wedding theme...?

I think of my dress & I think vintage/classic.  But everything else I don't think really fits a "theme"  Am I just going crazy & my wedding is just going to be a chaotic mess???  Or is a theme not really necessary?

My pew decorations are...

The reception table center pieces are

these in royal blue...

and like this but with an orange viney like flower...

Have I gone all over or does this all tie in??

Re: wedding theme...?

  • I say if you love it...then its PERFECT!
Thats funny....I think of my wedding dress as classic vintage/old hollywood...but nothing else is like that....we have fall colors...dark brown, red and orange...we have tree branches and crystals and tea lights...and oragami flowers....hanging the same colored poms from the ceiling....I'm not sure if it all goes together or not....but I love it....therefore its PERFECT Wink

I think that people shouldn't be so afraid of themes that are a little more mismatched, so to say. It's what makes weddings more special and not feel like you got them from one of those theme party sections in a Party City or whatnot. ;) Our venue is pretty rustic looking and so we have a lot of the very common Pinteresty rustic elements (yes, there will be mason jars and stripey straws), but we also have fairly modern style senses between us and so our table numbers and custom cocktail napkins and signage are pretty clean and "fun" and modern. I'm thinking it will work! (I'm hoping.) And it sounds like yours should, too! Your ceremony decor is so pretty!

  • I think those three elements look good together.  I think as long as you are staying close to the same style, then you'll be ok.  All of those to me are earthy and organic.  The candles have the viney design and the second centerpiece you mentioned a more viney like flower.

  • I don't have a theme....not even sure what I'd call my style. I feel like its classic elegant maybe with a touch of rustic or southern because of the reception location. Your stuff looks great!

Oh my! I'm honestly never noticed that.  Maybe I did fall into a theme & didn't even realize it.  They are all kind of earthy

I love the Rustic stuff & originally wanted that but we couldn't find a good location to start it all off.  I think what you described will all mesh very well!
