Meet with Pastor

Just scheduled our first meeting with out Pastor since we met him and decided on the church (we are not members there).

I'm not sure exactly what the meeting is for, as he contacted us, so iam wondering if there is anything specific I should be asking.  We already have the main details hammered out - i.e. time, rehearsal date and time, we chose their organist, etc.  

What did you and your officiant talk about when you organized a meeting?  I want to look like I have done all of my homework and that I am prepared

It's probably either some kind of pre marriage counseling (FI and I have our second of 4 sessions with our pastor on Monday) or just a meeting to write/figure out the ceremony itself. He could just want to get to know you so he can say a few words about the two of you before the vows. You could just email/call and ask him about the meeting so you're prepared for it.

Ours just wanted to go through the ceremony.  What we wanted said, if we were doing a unity ceremony, how to handle FI divorced parents, why we want to get married, why we thinkg this marriage will work when other relationships haven't, ect.  We didn't get through everything cause we kept just talking with him so we have to go back in Sept.

We met with ours for the first time about two weeks ago and he wanted to get to know us and walk us through the ceremony. We'll meet again in September to talk through all of the readings we chose, go through our FOCCUS survey (part of Catholic marriage prep), and answer last minute questions.

In addition, we went through PreCana, which was more like counseling than meeting with the pastor...

Our Pastor is also a marriage counselor.  Four meetings (5 total) were pre-marital counseling and the last was kind of a re-cap and the ceremony details.

Each Pastor is different so its really hard to say.  If he didn't mention that he requires additional meetings, then most likely he just wants to discuss the ceremony.
