October 2012 Weddings

Updates Galore!

So, for those of you who remember these things... a couple new happenings in my life.

First the good... FI got a letter in the mail last week setting a court date for his settlement stuff (Dec 11). There are a few other settlement conference dates in the letter but I think we pretty much now know that things will be close to figured out at the end of this year. Hooray!

Shortened version for those who may wonder: FI got dropped on his face last March while strapped to a backboard in his EMT class. Broke his nose, had to have a lot of surgery. Total negligence on the part of the instructor. Savings is pretty much gone : / We were thinking of house purchasing ths summer but that is pretty much out. Probably next summer tho if things go well : )

The next thing... I posted a while back about my mom telling me that after my wedding she is planning on leaving my dad. As of last week she hadn't talked to my brother or sister about it, but has been wanting to. My brother is in California in the navy and she wanted to wait til he came home for my sister's graduation in May. That's no longer happening because he is getting deployed at the end of May and isn't allowed to leave three weeks prior (he will be home for my wedding tho). So she has been trying to get a hold of him via phone and has been waiting for the opportunity to tell my sis. Which she is scared to do, and let's face it I am not surprised. You all have heard about how crazy she is, haha.

So I took them out for Mexican, got my mom a margarita and forced her to tell my sister (it was perfect timing because she and I had been talking about my dad that afternoon and she commented on how she felt sorry for mom now that all us kids were about to be out of the house). Haha. She took it surprisingly well, and had the same reaction I did, as in... we've all known this was coming for a long time, why'd you wait? For us of course, but us kids all know growing up would have been a lot easier had we not all had to put a front on all the time. I am so not looking forward to the marriage counseling session where I get to tell pastor my dad will not be walking me down the aisle. My favorite part is how the man actually still thinks that I'm letting him.

Tangent, sorry. Annoying tho, that my sister who is the biggest jerk to him and basically treats him like dirt is all concerned about what he's going to do with himself if this happens. Ok.

And now puppies... because they are adorable
