Grey Tuxedos?

Fiance and I looked for tuxedos this weekend. He fell in love with grey tuxedos and eggplant colored ties or bow ties (not sure yet). Originally, I was all about the grey tuxedos to match our eggplant and pewter wedding...now I am questioning it. My concern is whether it appears too casual or how it will look in pictures. Any thoughts on grey tuxedos with eggplant bridesmaid dresses?

This is exactly what I am doing!  I, personally, think it is going to be gorgeous.  The guys' suits will still be formal because they'll have vests, and I think that really makes a difference.  Excuse the cheesy male model, but these are our suits. They're actually charcoal as opposed to gray.  The groomsmen will have eggplant ties, and my groom will have a black tie with an eggplant boutonniere to match some of the flowers in my bouquet.

I think grey and eggplant would go together nicely.  If FI really loves it, then I'd say go for it.

Personally, I prefer black tuxes though.  Black is classic and timeless.

 I love this tuxedo...do you mind me asking what company you are planning to go through and how much they are? We opted to go without the vests because the tuxes were 200 each without it, and to add it would be 20 more. Fiance is planning to pay for a portion so that our groomesman dont have to pay that ridiculous price, but if I could find them cheaper, we would be much happier! Thanks.

We are going through a local shop where we live.  The name of the tux is the Steel Grey Savoy Tuxedo by Jean Yves.  The suit, shoes, shirt, and tie will be $140.  Hope that helps!!

Our guys are wearing charcoal gray tuxes with navy ties/vests, which match the girls' long, navy dresses. (See example. The color is a little darker in person.)

I liked that they're really sharp, but tone down the formality a bit, since our wedding is at 1, and we're all in pretty formal dresses... The dads are going with black though, since that's what they preferred.

In my head this all looks fine.

I've tried to talk FI into charcoal tuxes but he insists on black.  I love the look - especially with the eggplant ties.

LOVE THAT LOOK!  The grey is so sleek!  The colors for our wedding are grey, black, white, and bright yellow.  At first I wanted grey tuxes too, but I ended up putting the girls in grey dresses, because it's tough to pull off bright yellow.  So I ended up choosing black tuxes with grey vests and ties for the guys.  Would black with grey and eggplant be your second choice?  If so, I think it will look great eaither way.
