Checks of the week

I had a decently successful week.  On Thurs, we had the tasting at our venue and the food was just amazing!  We had tasted a caterer's food option before and this blew it out of the water.  I feel a little more relieved in the fact that we are paying a boatload for the food, but it's delicious and a big meal.  Plus, the biggest bonus is that my rather critical FMIL commented that she is really happy with the place!  On the way, I also bought 12 sets of vases from another bride on Craigslist and she threw in another 15 odd sizes that she had for the cake table, etc for free!  Then I found small votives from another bride.  I'm getting a lot of my decor on the cheap and reusing, which is important to me!
Little baby steps make me feel like I'm being productive in our planning.  However, all of you ladies that have already got your invites, tuxes and rings are making me feel behind!  :)  I can't get my FI to talk about these things yet, because "the wedding is so far out".

Re: Checks of the week

  • Yay for your checks! I've been doing the same= finding little pieces of my decor for cheap while waiting for FI...he's taking his Masters right now on top of full-time work so anything that needs his physical presence for wedding stuff (rings, registry, dance classes) will have to wait until June.

  • Yay! I've also been focusing on the nitty-gritty decor details as well as finding appropriate cocktail/dinner music.

We're almost done working with the design company for our invitations and my friend finished our RD invitations so I'm picking those up on Friday as well.

Saturday is my bridesmaids luncheon and I'm so excited! We're headed to a winery for a tour, tasting and lunch.
