Weightloss Wednesday

Re: Weightloss Wednesday

  • I am at a plateau right now, it's so frustrating. I lost 5 pounds over the last two weeks, but now I can't lose anymore. I hope it doesn't last long. It is so discouraging!! I hope y'all are doing better than me. :

  • Good. I've been watching my calories in and out, using MFP. I slipped up a little around my bridal shower, but i couldnt pass up the good food and cake=) Plus homemade cookies!

I also just started personal training sessions at the gym. One of the trainers was nice enough to give me a couple of sessions for free, he knows i lost my job and money is tight, so he offered when i was asking about what was included in the year membership that i had just paid for. Then at my session on Monday (where i cant feel my arms and my ab muscles are killing me), he told me he was going to train me up until the wedding & make me his project=)
    Im so excited!

  • I'm staying on track! I don't know if I've lost anything...I need to invest in a new scale. I've been doing very good with my calorie intake using my fitness pal. And I've been walking every day. I haven't done todays yet. I didn't sleep well last night so I overslept this morning and it was too hot to walk. Maybe ill try on my break this evening. I only get 15 mins but that's better than nothing!

  • I have been doing pretty well.  We signed up to go back to our original gym this past weekend and we are much happier.  We have only gone once and my arms are killing me.  I am really happy with the fact that the gym is open 24 hours during the week.  Our old gym closed at 1030 and we were constantly getting kicked out.  On Monday, we didn't even get to the gym until after 9 and worked out until about 12.  It was so great!!

Wow, that's awesome!!  I had a really rough week last week and did not make it to the gym once!   But I'm back on track this week.  I thought I could do it on my own and stopped tracking and stopped going to weight watchers meetings.  And then I stopped losing weight, lol.  Thankfully I didn't gain but I know if I want to lose these last five pounds, I have to track and go to meetings.  So back to it!

  • I started doing a boot camp class. Monday was my second night and I feel sore after it for a couple of days.  I have also been using the elliptical almost everyday.  I do the gluteal variety and the other day FI told me that my butt was looking great. So I think I will keep that up:)

My calorie intake has been okay.  I am switching it up this week to eat more protein, with a huge salad with chicken, and fruit.   I really haven't lost any weight but I am not gaining either, so I am okay with that.

  • I had been doing pretty good with my diet, but I feel off about mid last week.  My parents came over for dinner and we had spaghetti, wine, bread, and dessert and that just screwed up the rest of the week for me.  Plus we had a birthday party on Saturday, so that didn't help at all.

I am back on it today.  About two years ago, I cut out all breads, pastas, and other high carb foods and I lost 20lbs in a month and half with working out and eating really healthy.  I am going to get back on that because I really want to get these 10lbs off of me that I keep saying I am going to get rid of.

I went for a run this morning and I'm hitting the gym tonight.  I plan on doing that routine until my first fitting in September.

  • I was doing really well and then I got discouraged by my plateau. I continued working out and eating right and still gained about 2 pounds. Then I gave up this last weekend and few days on vacation and am up about 5 pounds.

    I am truly discouraged.

To those of you who are doing well, keep it up.

  • I don't weigh myself (struggled with an eating disorder in college and I tend to obsess about the number I see on the scale-I even look away when they weigh me at the Dr's!) so I go by how my clothes fit and my measurements.  That said, I am definitely seeing results!  I have been working out, eating healthy, and drinking less beer (which sucks!).  All of my size 6 pants are starting to feel loose!  I'm not at my goal yet but with 102 days to go I think it's doable.  Good luck ladies!  Keep up the good work.
  • I've lost about 6 pounds overall. I'd been doing really, really well but then we had a meet-and-greet with our new principal at the school I work with on Monday and a bunch of my co-workers wanted to go eat Mexican...so the past couple of days I haven't done fabulous. I've been holding steady, at least, not gaining the weight back. I'm back to working hard on my calories today!!

I hadn't been working out too much, but my cardio dance teacher just got back from a vacation in Mexico so I resumed class yesterday. Now to make sure I continue working out when we go on our beach vacation on Friday. :) FI's mom and sister plan on running in the mornings on the beach, so I am hoping to join them. I just have to behave with my food. :)

  • I've been doing either Zumba or BodyPump classes at the gym 2-3x/week each, and usually one day of a walk or bike ride outside. So, for the past three weeks, I've logged 6 days of exercise a week. My calorie intake is pretty good, staying around 1400/day, which is what my BMR suggests I burn everyday doing nothing. I usually have one day a week that I totally fall off the wagon, so I need to be more careful with that so I don't ruin all my hard work the rest of the week.

I'm doing well, but am seeing very few results. :( The scale is staying the same, but I have noticed some more definition/leanness in my arms and waist. Thankfully, my summer schedule allows me tons of time to go to the gym, so until the end of August, I have no excuses for gettin' it done!
  • I'm...maintaining, I guess. I'm not at my goal weight yet, but I'm kind of reluctant to lose more because I don't want alterations on my dress to be any harder than they have to be. The dress fits my chest perfectly and is loose everywhere else. Nice problem to have, right? LOL. So I've sort of given myself permission to slack off, as long as I don't gain anything back. I'm kind of worried I'll gain on my vacation next month, though. Worst case scenario, that'll give me 7 weeks until the wedding to lose it again!

  • I just ate a salad with no meat and low fat italian dressing for lunch. That's also what we had for dinner last night.

FI and I just started working out last week and he's already hurt his knee. So last night he couldn't work out. I got home late so I took the dog for a short walk/jog instead of doing the treadmill. Hopefully I'll be back on the treadmill tonight.

For those of you who didn't do any special programs but just started eating healthier and working out - how long before you noticed results? I know it's different for everyone, but I'm so anxious to lose a couple pounds!!

  • I'm trying to get back on track.  I hit my goal weight about 3 months ago.  Wedding planning started getting in the way of my workouts and healthy eating.  You know, I can't go to the gym after work because I have to meet the flourist.  Or we don't have time to make dinner before meeting the baker, so lets get something on the way.  Anyway, I managed to put back on seven of the 15 pounds I lost.  I'm really ashamed of it honestly.
I've been meaning to get back on track but with the heat it's been hard to get motivated.  Today is day one of back on track.  I had greek yogurt w/ blackberries for breakfast, a turkey and avacado salad for lunch (PS I've found that avacado chucks completely replace the need for dressing)  and I have some cottage cheese for a snack later.  And the best part, I went down to the gym on my lunch!  I'm super sweaty at my desk right now and hope I don't stink, but I feel great!

I would say I noticed an obvious change within a month, and a subtle change within a week.  As I said, I don't weigh myself to avoid slipping back into bad habits, so I have to go by how my clothes fit and how I feel and my measurements.

One thing I will say is don't do anything too extreme (ie starvation diets), especially when there are still months to go.  You could risk slowing your metabolism down to the point where when you start eating "normally" again you will gain back twice the weight you lost (I speak from experience!).  I know it's frustrating and slower to lose weight the healthy way, but it's better in the long run.

What I do is stick to 1500 calories a day and aim for 30-60 minutes of exercise a minimum of 4 times a week.  And don't overlook strength training! Unless you take a protein supplement, it will not make you "bulk up" and it burns a ton of calories, not to mention adding definition.  Hope that helps!
