OH NO! baby bump!!! PIP

If youyou know that i got pregnant while on birth control in early september. We are excited to be welcoming baby #2 but i've run into a BIG problem! I'm only 7 weeks and will be 8 1/2 on our wedding day but i have a big and obvious tummy! My dress doesnt look right and we were hoping not to have to tell everyone at the wedding seeing as we will not be out of the first trimester yet but now i feel like i have no choice! Is it really obvious to you? do i just look like i may have just put on a few pounds? do you think i could still somehow magicly hide it??

this was 3 weeks pregnant:

this is now in my wedding dress:

  • you look like maybe you "gained a few pounds" in the tank top (maybe).  but it's pretty obvious in the dress.  sorry, I know that's NOT what you wanted to hear :( maybe your seamstress will have a solution?

In the profile view, knowing about it, it seems pretty obvious.  HOWEVER, you just told me that you're pregnant and you think it's obvious so it's in my head.  I'm not sure if shapewear/spanx are recommended for pregnant women - can you ask your doctor?  If not, I would recommend staying away from salty and fatty foods that can cause bloating.  That might help it go down a little bit.

I can't see all of the detail on your dress in the front, but is adding a wide belt an option this late in the game? I'm not sure if that would avoid attention or cause more - can you visit your seamstress and talk to her about options.  (This will probably be a costly option.)

I would definitely avoid holding your hand over your stomach on the wedding day if you don't want anyone to know about it - it just draws attention to your stomach.

Congratulations on the baby!  You look gorgeous in your dress!!
  • Talk to your doctor about what kind of spanx/long line bra/corset is safe to wear.

I love the baby bump, but yes it's totally obvious (sorry!).

  • I agree...it's pretty obvious! :( but I do agree with PP that I might have been able to see it as "a few extra pounds" if I hadn't known...but I think people might know. Check with your dr. about if you can cover it with anything, or check with your seamstress. It'll be okay!!

  • Sorry girl, but everyone is right...it is pretty obvious...but as someone else said it might be because I "know" what I am looking for...but I seriously dont think it looks like a few pounds. You are only baby belly...so it is obvious. I would definitely see what the physician says about spanx. Maybe that will help. If not, see if your seamstress can let it out in certain places for an A-line look?

    Good luck and congrats!!!

  • congrats and yes its obvious but people are not likely to ask so as to not upset the bride in case you packed on a few pounds bc of wedding stress :)
