Fireworks...hands down. Though I was disappointed with the city's fireworks show last night. The fireworks themselves were nice but the songs they chose for the soundtrack was just a collection of all the old standbys. The only "new" song was Adele's "Set fire to the rain" and IMO they didn't use the set of fireworks that would go perfect with that song. They used big bursty ones. The ones that have that initial bright burst and then nothing and then like a golden sparkly "rain" would've been better. I hope i described them well enough, I can't find a picture of ones i mean.

Fireworks!! And secondly, family barbeques.  Fourth of July is the epitome of the summer for me, and my favorite holiday!!

I'm Canadian so I'm going to apply this to July 1 which is Canada Day. The best part is having a paid day off.

Everything! I think July 4th is my favorite holiday. I love the fireworks, cooking out, tubing, hanging with the family, and celebrating independence. I'm working it this year so we did all of this last weeked

Well, it's my fathers birthday and we usually head to the lake and BBQ, which is fun. Plus watching fireworks from the boat is fun. Unfortunately that is overshadowed by today being the fifth anniversary of my grandfather's death my Mother's father. We all loved him so much. :

Fireworks. FI usually buys fireworks every year and does them where ever we go, whether it be family or friends house. He is the big firework person that everyone asks for on 4th of July. This year our kids are sick and I am working. Boo! No fireworks this year.

I'm also Canadian and unlike Achi I had to work, so yay for double time and a half! But I LOVE LOVE LOVE hamburgers. Nothing beats a burger right off the grill. Family BBQs are the best. So much so in fact we're having one the day after the wedding. Happy 4th of July to all you Americans!

The 4th isn't extremely celebrated by our family. I always had to beg my parents to take me to the fireworks in the next town. We usually just grill a steak and had family time. Since my birthday is on the 3rd there's more celebrating me than anything. When I was young we always went to Panama City Beach FL for my birthday so we went to like a waterpark and stuff. If we didn't go there we went to Six Flags over GA. So I guess maybe the 4th has always been in the shadow of my birthday and how lucky I am to be alive because my Dad was given the choice if we can only save one who do you want us to try to save. He picked Mom and I lived too. So it was really a miracle!

Food and fireworks! I LOVE family BBQ, and fireworks always make me so happy! They never fail to make me feel the same magical way I used to as a kid.

Spending time with my family and the awesome food!  Fireworks are great too, but it's been super dry here for the last few years, so we haven't had any big shows in a while.
