Bridal Party Gifts - decided?

So I think I've finally found the perfect gift for my Maids of Honor (they're my two best friends and my entire wedding party, so I was not about to pick one over the other) I found these super cute necklaces on Etsy. I figured they're perfect because there's 3 and we will forever have matching necklaces. I don't plan to wear mine at the wedding since I don't plan on wearing a necklace anyway.

I want to get them with the stones pictured so that they'll be able to wear these with just about anything. I also want to make them both a jewelry box (check it out!) because I am super crafty and feel like I can't give them only "purchased" gifts. That may sound weird, but I've been creating gifts for people since I was a little girl. I am hoping to make the boxes out of scrabble boards and spell their name on the top with tiles.

I would love opinions. I know you ladies are honest :)

    I really love the necklaces and would be thrilled to get a gift like that.  I also like the idea of getting clear stones instead of automatically going for a birthstone or something.  Although I like the color green, I've never liked my birthstone (emerald) in jewelry so much.  Great idea!

    Those necklaces are not my style at all, but I'm not one of your bridesmaids.  Do your bridesmaids wear jewelry like that and could they all use a jewelry box?

    Honestly, the matching necklace thing made me think of those BFF necklaces that 8 year olds always exchange.

    I was in a wedding party in June and the bride gave us all a very similiar necklace.  Instead of being a plain necklace the stone comes through a leaf outline (hard to explain), she got each of us a stone she thought we would like.  I absolutely love the necklace and get complments on it where ever I go.  I think the necklace is a great choice!

    I love the necklaces. And I especially love that you want to make your girls something by hand. So much more personal than something you picked off a shelf. Great idea!

    I'm doing a similar style for my bridesmaids.  I knew exactly what I wanted to buy them months ago.  They are just beautiful.  Rather than initials, I did a different charm on each necklace.  I think you made a lovely choice.
