China

I sent my save the dates out last week, and I figured it would be a good time to check my registry to make sure nothing went out of stock.  Six place settings of our china were purchased!  So excited! :)

Anyway, this is pattern we registered for:

What china is everyone registered for/planning to register for?

We registered for the colorwave stone ware instead of china...I just don't see us ever using it.  But on our registry it counts it as  "Fine dinning."

  • We didn't register for any. I already have a set of nice everyday dishes. My grandmother gave me a set of china she has been saving since my parents were married.

  • I feel silly about being excited for it, but I know we will use it.  My FI and I both grew up with our parents using their sets semi-regularly.

@BMBrinson: Those are nice!  You'll be able to dress them up or down. :)

  • We didn't register for china.  My grandma was in a nursing home when we got engaged and gave us her china as an early wedding present.  She just died last month, so it's definitely got sentimental value.
  • I don't know anyone who owns china so I'm sure we won't be registering for any!

    Cmhurst thanks
Music11 thats what I thought and its supposed to be really durable. The manager at the store banged a mug on the self...hard on and it was fine.

My mom has a set of china and they may have come out of the cabinet once that I can recall, so  wanted something durable. They have a few different colors as well and a version with out the rim of color if anyone is looking for something similar.

  • We registered for china.  I found a pattern we both loved and we are actually excited about getting it,  We may not use it now but I definitely see using it as we take over a holiday or two :-) The dish set is very simple and all the accent pieces have the flower on them.

  • We registered for a formal china service as well as casual dinnerware and flatware.  I know we'll actually use them.  Honestly, I can't wait to host all our friends for Thanksgiving this year with forks that match and dishes that are a little more formal than our amalgam of college plates and glasses.

  • That's the pattern we love!  We've registered for the candlesticks as well, the table runner, napkins.  It's so pretty.

And my mom bought us the cake knife and server set early on, to use at our wedding.  That's what started our love for this pattern haha.

  • Yup, we registered for china.  I love to cook and see FI and I hosting many holiday dinners in the future.  I know the china will get put to good use.

We registered for Mikasa's Parchment.  LINK  We registered for the 40 piece set (which works out to 8 place settings) and then 4 individual place settings to total 12 place settings.  We received the 40 piece set as a Christmas present : )

@Music:  that Lenox pattern is very pretty!  That was our runner-up china pattern choice ; )

  • @cmhurst: Your pattern is really classic!  That will definitely stand the test of time.

@Nic: Your pattern was actually OUR second choice!!! How funny!!! :)
