Greek Wedding suggestions

Hi all!

I am having a Greek Ceremony for our wedding and have many non-Greek guests. We are looking to include some details on the Ceremony within the program but was wondering if anyone else had any other ideas that they've done?
Samples of where people pulled the information from would also be helpful. I have some sample programs from other weddings that were so lengthy and I was wondering if I could truncate it a bit!

Any other creative touches, etc would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks all!!!

Re: Greek Wedding suggestions

  • I haven't started on my program and haven't been to a Greek Ceremony, but I would look on the boards because I bet there is a specific one for it.  I know there is a Catholic board.  They would probably be the best source!

    Good luck!

I've been to a greek wedding before where the ceremony was performed entirely in Greek. The couple had programs that layed out the order of the service and explained what each ritual meant (the crowns, walking around whatever it is, etc). It was very helpful as a non-Greek and kept me more interested in what was going on.

<div>I just went to a wedding at a Greek Orthodox church last weekend.  This was my first experience with a Greek ceremony and church.  Like achiduck said, the program had the whole ceremony layed out with an explanation of each part.  I agree that it was very helpful and it kept me interested.  </div><div>
