question on shoes

Ok ladies. My wedding is Oct 6, what type of shoes should I wear? I'm laid back and not a big heel person but people are telling me I should wear them. I just know I WILL end up going with flipflops during the reception. Also its an outdoor ceremony, I don't want to sink into the ground.

I would either find some nice wedges or flats for the ceremony. If you do go with heels there are these heel protector things that prevent you from sinking into the ground but I don't remember what they're called just now.

I'm having my wedding on the same day outside and I'm wearing flats, your shoes really shouldn't show if you're wearing a full length dress anyway...

I'm not doing heels either; I'd be miserable in them.

I'm wearing flats too!  I think comfort trumps everything and there are some really cute bridal flats/flip flops out there!

I'll be wearing heels no higher than 2 inches. FI is 9 inches taller than me, so I need a little height but I'm not comfortable in really high heels. The new ballet flats from TOMS shoes are really pretty, plus they are for a good cause : )
