invites?

are you ordering them from a store? or online? and how much are they costing? what does the price include? i am a very amazed at the price i found ones i loved in the store but the price was almost $700 ( for 100 invites)and that was with a %15 discount that the store is having in april !!!!!! seriously and they didnt even come assembled i was told we would be given the glue dots to assemble them! seriously if i have to assemble them myself why on earth would i be paying that much money... it included the printed invites/ pocketfolds / responce cards and envelops/ accomedation cards and a directions cards/ the layering paper for under the invites!!!

i cant believe it was so much $$$ and they werent even the most expensive invites we picked out of the books... we went through like 8 big books of wedding invites( with no prices listed ) put post its on the ones we liked and then the owner/ and a sales lady came back to give us prices < one of the ones we liked the owner was just like oh that one will be alot more than the ones you love .... with that comment i told him he didnt even need to find the price it had a layer and a ribbon tucked into one of the layers... who knew ribbon costed so much ...lol />

Re: invites?

  • thanks Ladies! i thought that price seemed ridiculus, its the only place we looked so far! guess the search is back on! its a shame too we loved the invites but i cant see spending $700 on them... and i am worried about printing my own.
  • Invites were one of the areas I decided to save money. I ordered mine through VP. I ordered about 80 invites, 60 thank you cards, 80 rsvp cards, and 30 insert cards for $120. I only paid $30 total though since I had purchased 2 groupons for VP. I didn't want to spend money on something everyone would throw away.

  • I'm having mine designed by someone I found on Etsy.  I will be paying about $2.75 each for the invite, envelope and RSVP postcard.
  • I found a really cute website after hours of searching the web.  I'm just doing invite and response cards and their total is $2 each.  I'm expecting to order $40 so it'll be $80 total.  Still trying to figure out how to put the return address on them, if I should buy a stamp or play with my printer and see how that goes.

If you are considering Michaels, they always have those 40% off coupons so you can always buy your invites with one of them.

  • I had mine done by a independent designer - jennifer Crawford - metzcrawford@hotmail.com.  She came well recommended from other knotties - I sent her links to styles I liked and she was able to blend the elements of the different styles/ideas I had into one unique suite for me (invites, programs, favor tags, etc.)  She was super reasonable - better pricing than any invite shop or online website I found - plus it was definitely not cookie cutter! Email her for a quote. she can work with just about any budget since she is independent of a shop or website
