SO FI and I chose our date (10/6) because I don't have class the following Monday and Tuesday, and we could take a mini honeymoon. We did not realize that Purdue has a home football game that weekend. Because of that, hotel prices are super expensive (cheapest so far is $175/night). My dad's side of the family lives 4 hours away and would need hotel rooms for at least Saturday night. If the majority of my family would not come due to high priced hotels, we could push the date back to 10/20 when Purdue is away. SO to asess this, I was considering sending everyone an e-mail that said:
"Hi Family! Dan and I picked a wedding date (10/6/12) not realizing that it was a home game for Purdue as well. Since it is a home game, hotel prices are pretty high. We are still looking at more hotels, but the cheapest we have found so far is $175 per night. YIKES! We would love to share our day with all of you. So if an expensive hotel would cause you all not to come to Lafayette, we are considering pushing the date back to a weekend that Purdue does not play at home. Please let me know what you think."
Is this acceptable to do? Should I word it diffentlly? Please let me know what you would do.
