Flowers?

What kind of flowers is everyone using?  I have no idea what to use since my colors are hot pink and black.  Also, I was planning on using silk flowers but I haven't found any that I really like.  Please help me!  This has been the most stressful part so far!

We're using a pallet of all white/cream flowers. My bouquet will be mini calla lillies like this:

BM Bouquets will be like this but mini calla lillies:

Boutineers will be like this (corsages will be similar but will be wrist corsages):

Two large arrangemenets like this (except with calla added) will be at the front of the church:

And these are our centerpieces (except I'm DIYing the lamps using a tutorial for a wine glass and DIY lamp shade):

  • What colors are your girls wearing? I just did a quick search of hot pink flowers on google, and a lot of options showed up like gerbera daisies, ranunculus, carnations, tulips, roses and calla lillies. The calla lillies would be cool because they also have that black base to them. Also, you can get the calla lillies in a deep hue that look almost black to get that color in the bouquet if you want.

  • I'm having origami bouquets.

That way I could have whatever colours I wanted for no extra cost. And they will last forever!

  • maybe you could use white/ivory? or go with pink! i think black would look weird in flowers< but maybe it wouldnt i have never seen it ... i have seen pink flowers with black accents < feathers, bows handles>my flowers look like this but i have fall colors
  • My MOH is getting married in August and hot pink is one of her colors. I know she's using gerbrera daisies and orchids in centerpieces.

This is what we're using for my bouquet, mostly. We're not going to have the green/white spiky looking things, we're going to use some blue delphinium. I honestly don't remember what we decided for the BM bouquets, but I think they're the sunflowers with the green butons, some greens, and the delphinium. The centerpieces will have just a flower or two in two different jars on each table. Some with a sunflower, some with a sprig of delphiium, some with baby's breath.

We're using white/ivory for my bouquet and ivory/light pink/peach for the BM bouquets. Boutonnieres for GM will be a peach rose and FI will have an ivory rose.  For the centerpieces we haven't decided on a color scheme yet, but I'm thinking ivories, light pinks, and maybe a darker pink or a peach.  I don't want the tables to look boring or washed out, but I also want it to be somewhat cohesive.

For a hot pink and black wedding, I would look at orchids, gerbera daisies, or gladiolus (gladioli?).   Are you hiring a florist? S/he might have examples of what's been done in the past for your color scheme.

ETA: Flowers will be a mixture of roses, hydrangeas, lisianthus and possibly others (depends on what's available).
  • My bouquet will be white callas.  Bridesmaids will be something peachy - maybe white hydrangea mixed with roses.  CPs are white, mostly hydrangea.

Can I ask why you are going with silk flowers? I think a lot of brides may think it is cheaper, but the really nice silks at AC Moore (what I am using for my cake and a couple small decor items), are like $8 a stem.

If the dresses are hot pink, I don't think I would do hot pink flowers for the bridesmaids, you should have some contrast.  You could have a white or pink bouquet, the guys can have white or pink bouts, and the BMs could maybe have white w/ a few hot pink flowers. PPs already made a few good suggestions with roses, carnations and gerbera. Ranunculus is beatiful, but my florist says it is pretty pricey. Tulips are also slightly out of season and are not a very hardy flower for bouquets. A couple other seasonal options are Dahlias (come in a wide range of colors, and the dinnerplate ones are huge, would only need a couple per arrangement/bouquet), stock, snapdragon, but those come in more of a magenta tone.

  • My colors are Tiffany blue, black and white/ivory.

All of our flowers are white/ivory because flowers don't naturally come in Tiffany blue and I hate the way spray painted flowers look.

My bouquet is white garden roses (fuller than a regular rose and looks more like a peony)
BMs will have 3 white hydrangeas as their bouquet
GM will have white freesia bouts
Moms and G`ma's will have white freesia corsages
    Centerpieces will be white hydrangeas

If you're looking for something with a pop of black for your flowers, anemones have big black centers.  I thought about using them in my flowers, but it just didn't look right with the garden roses or hydrangeas.  I thought they were really cool and different though.

  • I'm going with white flowers-- mostly dahlias, but some mums too.

What are you using for the peach flowers?  My florist said there aren't a ton of options besides roses for peach.
  • I am using plumerias, orchids and calla lillies.  My bouquet it actually the one in my signature.  It is a real touch bouquet.  I couldn't get a real on with those flowers in it.

Try this link:  Clicky.  This is not who I used, but it was recommended to me.

  • We went with more of a color palette than specific colors.  We are using shades of blues and greens with white.  My bouquet will be like the one below and my BM's will be insides out versions, mostly white with splashes of blues and greens.  Our flowers were actually inspired by the bouts below.  I wanted each bouquet and bout to be a little different, but all use the same types of flowers.  We are carrying that same concept throught to our centerpieces, which will all be the same flowers but each arrangement will look a bit different.

Flowers we are using:  white, blue, green hydrangea, green orchid, white roses, blue delphinium, white mini callas, green hypericum berries.

  • Mine are supposed to be Calla Lilies (white) & Delphinium (royal-ish blue) But I was told by 1 florist that in October the Calla Lilies won't be opened & will be more trumpet shaped so I'm not sure yet.  Calla Lilies are my absolute favorite though!  Our Colors are Royal Blue & Orange
