Did you put an engagement announcement in the newpaper?  Are you doing one for the wedding?

Yes and most likely, we will see. My mom paid for and made me do the e-announcement.

We did not put an engagement announcement in the newspaper. But then again, we really didn't have to, because FIs proposal was front page newsworthy in our little town, lol. So awesome but so embarrassing at the same time. When we talked to the reporter no one told me it would be on the front page!! Haha.

I imagine we will put a wedding announcement in the paper, but haven't done too much thinking about that I suppose.

To answer the QOTD, we did not place an annoucement. 70% of our guest are OOT, so we didn't really see the point.

The little girl in me was only *slightly* disappointed!

We haven't yet, but we plan to do one for both the engagement and wedding. Not so much for the people we invited, but so that people I went to school with, or parents' old friends who aren't invited can see.

In our city, lots of people put them in and I actually like looking at them to see who's getting married that I know.

We did not do one.  FI & I are fairly private people plus our ex's are in quite the competition with us to get married, we try to keep everything on the DL.  (For those of you who don't know my XH & FI's XW are getting married to each other.)

Jenna: Nope, just the paper in our town. I am actually a little over an hour north of Cinci, closer to Dayton, but since that wasn't an option. Cincinnati was the closest thing to put on the Knot. I am always curious as to where people who's location says Cinci are actually from, because I know mine is so far off.

In my area engagement announcements are usually posted about 3-4 weeks before the wedding. My Dad might post one but we're not.

Yes. I sent in an engagement announcement. It was free and those kind of little things excite me. I think it'll be a cute addition to our wedding album/scrapbook. Plus, it gave me another excuse to use one of our engagement pictures (which we only did b/c they were included in our photog package).

We will probably send in a wedding announcement too.

Well I planned on doing what everyone else around here does once we have our engagement pictures done and announcing the engagement. Like PP I LOVE looking in the paper to see people I know who are getting married. We're such a small town so its fun!

Nope and nope.  I never even considered it and FI would look at me like I was crazy if I suggested it.

Yup, we put an engagement announcement in our hometown newspaper.  It was free, they printed our e-pic nice and big and in color!  However, the actual write up was full of typos.  Even though I wrote the announcement myself and didn't use their fill-in-the-blank form, they still managed to mess it up!  It's par for the course of my hometown though LOL!  I'd be shocked if it got printed correctly : P

We'll be putting in our wedding announcement too.  It makes our parents and grandparents happy when all of their friends see it and congratulate them ; )

Yep. My mom was so excited about it! If she could they would be in every paper in the world ( I think its a mom thing to love seeing your kid in the paper). I had no control, she put it our towns 2 papers, and then FMIL put it in her paper. We'll prob do one for the wedding too.
