Late dress regret

Ughhh...I just started looking at pics of myself in my dress when I first got it and now, I don't know why, but I'm starting to not like it.  I guess it's not really the dress I don't like because I love the dress, but I'm not really liking the way I look in it anymore.  :(  I compared it to pics of myself in the same dress when I first tried it on with the sample, and for some reason it just looks SOOO much better with the sample.  I feel like I look skinnier and it elongated my torso.  I know I haven't gained any weight since I tried on the dress the first time.  I'm the same size, if not a tad bit smaller, because I wasn't working out then and I am now.  I dunno, something about it seems to make me look so short from the hips up.  And now I feel like my hips look so wide!

I don't know why I'm all of a sudden thinking way too much about it.  Can someone please talk some sense into me?  I know a lot of you have had worries about your dress after you bought it at one point or another.  It's too late to find another dress and, honestly, it's not in the budget either - but I really don't want to hate the way I look on my wedding day.  Ugh.

Re: Late dress regret

  • I know how you feel!  I loved my dress trying it on and it was gorgeous.  I went for my second fitting last weekend and it was just aggravating having to add a bustle for the dress and having to wear a slip because I was stepping on the front layer.  I told my mom I wish I wouldn't have bought this dress that it feels so heavy and I feel big in it.  I think all brides go through this sometime or another because we want everything to be so perfect!

Hang in there I'm sure your dress will be beautiful as well as you!

  • I felt the same way a few weeks ago! I went back to Davids Bridal and actually tried on another dress that I thought I would like better.. However.. I then tried on my dress again and remembered why I loved it! I hope this happens for you. But Honestly I was considering getting another dress. I think all Brides go through this at some point, So breathe and try to remember that. This is such a fun, crazy, stressful time.. it makes sense why you would second guess the most important part of your day! Just try to remember what made you fall in love with it in the first place, and hopefully that will get you through this!

  • I had this happen today.... Went to try on headpieces at DB's, and the sales girl said that my hoopskirt was too big for my dress, made it pull away too much, and I should try something smaller.  I KNOW she was just trying to get me to buy one of their skirts and rack up her commission, but now I'm just aggravated!
