Aisle Decor Question

Originally we were planning on getting married outside. However, after going back to our venue this Friday we've decided to just have the ceremony in our Plan B location. It's a huge barn and will require a lot of decoration. This would cause a lot of last minute work/money if we had to do Plan B, so I thought it would be less stressful if we just went with that in the first place and have everything ready.

So, to the point . . .

The barn has an asphalt floor (it was an old horse racing barn). I would like to make the aisle look nice (from the moment guests walk in). However, my future brother-in-law/FI's best man is in a wheel chair. I'm a little concerned about his motorized wheel chair getting caught on, tearing, dirtying up an aisle runner. Anyone have any other ideas on how to decorate the aisle and cover up the asphalt?

Flower petals, or roll out the runner right before everyone walks down.

Yes, I agree with PP.  You can "rope" off the center aisle like in the pic below.  That way your guests take their seats from the sides (not the center aisle).  We're planning on doing this.

That picture is really pretty. I was going to suggest flower petals as well until the motorized wheelchair threw me, I would think it would break up the petals a bit, maybe I'm wrong.  As far as the motorized wheelchair tearing up or dirtying the aisle runner, I can't say that it won't, but i can't imagine that it would.  You could always have one of the other groomsmen wipe the wheels off once inside the barn, or, depending on your colors, go with a darker aisle runner if you think the chance of it dirtying would stress you out too much then and use the petals along the sides of the runner so that he wouldn't actually be rolling OVER the petals but they would still be there.
