Soooo many checks in the last three days!!

Y'all.... stuff's getting real. I feel like I'm actually getting more excited and less stressed!

In the last three days: I had my final dress fitting, bought a veil, picked out/purchased wedding bands, booked flights for getting to the wedding, and booked flights/bed & breakfast for honeymoon! (Keyyyyyy West!!! Woohoo!)

And today, we got our first gift check! We had received a few registry gifts (oddly, mostly from my dad's cousins, who all declined the invitation), but this is the first money gift.

Wow, wow, wow!  I'm sure it feels great to have so many big checks done!  Congrats  And Key West sounds amazing...

We have gotten at least 20 declines but only one gift in the mail.  Do people who decline generally send gifts before the wedding or right around the wedding date?  When I haven't been able to go to a wedding, I usually send the gift around the wedding date.  Wonder if I've been doing it wrong?

We've had about 17 declines total (well, 17 people declined). 5 of them have sent gifts at the same time as the decline. We've had one couple who is going to the wedding send a gift already (they live in NYC near us, and understand the logic of none of us having to travel with gifts!). All of the declines that have sent gifts are my dad's cousins, so I wonder if it's just something they were all taught growing up or something?
