October 2012 Weddings

What jewelry is everyone wearing?

I've decided that the only jewelry I will be wearing other than my e-ring and wedding band on the day of are my sparkly chandelier earrings (clicky) and my (small) nose stud piercing (I never take that out).  I decided to not wear a necklace because I thought it might be too much since my dress has a beaded bodice and the bottom is ruffled.  I felt like adding a necklace would make me look too busy.  Here is my dress:

I also am not wearing a bracelet because I never wear them and when I do, I don't like the way it feels.  I have small wrists so it always feels like they are flopping around.

What do you guys think?  Do I think I should do a little more for jewelry or are the earrings I am wearing good enough?

What kind of jewelry are you wearing on your wedding day?

  • I think just the earrings will look great. You look stunning in the dress, I wouldn't want to add anything to take away from it.

  • I'm also just going with statement earrings. I tried to find a bracelet but nothing really seemed to catch my eye so I gave up. I also have a fur stole, but it's more for pictures and keeping me warm while outside.

  • I'm going to be wearing earrings and a bracelet that are being made for me by a family friend.  I don't plan to wear a necklace, I also think it would be too much with the earrings.

  • I'm wearing a matching necklace and earring set I bought. Its pearls and rhinestones neither are large or statement pieces. I'm also wearing a tennis bracelet given to me by my Dad. It goes good with the necklace and earrings all are understated bling. I've also got a blingy headband that I LOVE. My dress doesn't have a ton of embellishment just about an inch band around the very top all the way around with some silver and pearl beads.

  • I'm wearing a cameo on a dark red ribbon, and small teardrop CZ earrings. I felt like my neck would look too naked without a necklace and I didn't want overwhelming earrings. I also am not wearing a bracelet for the same reasons as OP - I never wear them since I have tiny wrists and they always feel like they're going to fall off.

  • I'm wearing a swarovski necklace borrowed from FMIL with swarovski hoop earrings - neither one makes a significant statement but both look good together.

I bought a nice bracelet to wear but my FI wants me to just wear my gold watch (I constantly check the time and am a bit paranoid about being off schedule, not wearing it will likely drive me nuts). Not sure which I will go for on my wrist yet.

  • I'm wearing earrings and a bracelet, but I also felt like a necklace was too much with my dress.
It doesn't have to be perfect to be everything I want!

  • I am wearing my pearl earrings and bracelet FI bought me for Christmas.  I am not wearing the pearl strand that he bought.  I'd would love to but my dress has a halter neckline and a necklace would be way too much.

  • I'm wearing my small emerald pendant necklace that FI gave me for Chritsmas 3 years ago, and emerald teardrop earrings. And, of course, my engagement ring (also emerald). No bracelet.

  • The top of my dress is covered in sparkle, but I wear jewelry all the time and felt it was necessary. I'm wearing a very simple white sapphire teardrop necklace on a delicate chain with matching earrings.

  • I am wearing peral drop earings... and  maybe a bracelet, I have nice pearl ones that match the pearls on my dress and tiara... but not sure yet...

Don't think I will be wearing a necklace as it take away from the dress and I don't want to be TOO overdone..

  • I'm wearing a statement necklace and small pearl earrings. I also purchased a tiffany style bracelet and had it monogramed with my "new initials".

  • i think what you chose to wear will look great!
I'm wearing my rings, my Pandora bracelet (Click) and earrings from my fiance.  I haven't decided which pair of earrings yet, but they are all very simple and understated (probably gold heart studs).
i only ever wear that jewlerry so a necklace or anything bold just wouldn't feel right.

  • I'm borrowing my mother's pearl necklace as my "something borrowed", and then I'm wearing these neat dangly cluster earrings with pearls and gray pearls (gray is one of our colors). I'd post a picture, but they were a custom order off Etsy so I don't have one and they're at home. I love them, though, and am so excited to wear them. They're my "something new"!

  • I'm wearing pearl and champagne diamond drop earrings, a matching hair pin and a multi-strand pearl bracelet. The entire outfit is coming together and I'm very pleased.

The only thing I haven't decided is whether or not I should wear my nose stud. My mom is entirely against it, my FI doesn't care either way and I'm feeling pulled in a million directions, so I've put it on the back burner.

if you were to take out your stud would you be able to see the hole from it?  if so, i suggest you wear it.  when i took my stud out a few years ago it looked like i had a giant blackhead on my nose.
  • Eeek.  Thanks for the heads up.  Maybe if I take it out now I'll be good to go?  Grrr.  I will talk to the artist who did it.
