  • As soon as possible for us. We've been trying since May 2011. We lost our last pregnancy in July and hope to conceive during our honeymoon!

  • Not that soon for me. I am thinking another 2-3 years before we start just talking about it and planning.

  • I think we'll be ttc soon. I told Fi he has to at least redo both bathrooms before babies get here. The rest I can deal with! I have a feeling it'll probably happen sooner though.

  • I'd rather wait another year or two, H would like right now. But I was saying last night to my friends, we're married now, we own a house, we have decent jobs, it wouldn't be the end of the world if I unexpectedly got pregnant.
  • Probably a solid 2 years before we start TTC, and our plan isn't to fully TTC but more to pull the goalie and see what happens. If we're not preggo after a few months then I'd start charting and get more serious about it.

  • ideally I'd like to be pregnany by this time next year, but I know a baby isn't in the cards for us financially right now.

  • i'm about 3-4 years from TTC.  We want to enjoy being married for a while first.   At my shower my mom's friend said "Well, you never know what God has in store!" so I said "Well I'm assuming He doesn't want us to be broke and raising a baby!"
  • We definitely want to wait a few years after we are married before we start trying to have children. We have a 9-month old nephew right now who is keeping us busy and helping us realize we aren't ready to have our own yet. :-)

  • Not sure. My best friend and I have joked for ages about having babies together, but she got married 3 years ago and now has a 1.5 year old. She's planning for baby no. 2 next summer, and wants me to aim for that, too. A small part of me is totally ready, part of me is not... and FI def wants kids, but is in no rush.

So realistically? Not sure. Maybe after a year or so. We need to figure out our living situation. We're ready to buy, but we live in Chicago, so we can really only afford a 2BR condo, which isn't ideal for the long-term. I'm MOST DEFINITELY NOT ready to move to the suburbs, where we could easily afford a house (and a yard!)...
  • I'll be jumping over! I'm 8 weeks pregnant with our second surprise baby! Our son is 17 months already :

"Pull the goalie" is my new favorite metaphor. That's pretty much the approach H and I plan on taking as well, but we haven't quite decided when we'll be pulling the goalie. The original plan was this June because that's when my BCP prescription ends anyway, but we keep talking about doing it sooner, so we'll see if our patience lasts or not!

  • We're planning to wait at least a year or two before "pulling the goalie." Right now we are not in the type of financial situation to even consider it, so we want to get settled first. We just moved to another state and are still settling from that and the wedding expenses, so we want to feel like we have our heads on straight before we add another complication!
