Invitations / Save the Dates

Where did everyone get their Invites / STDs from?  I want invitations that aren't extremely expensive (less than $5 each) that are formal and aren't super do-it-yourself.  I'm afraid of using the packages from Michaels because you have to print them yourself and I'm horrible at that.  I'd also prefer not to have to tie a hundred tiny bows!  Does anyone have any recommendations?

  • I got my save the date magnets from Magnetstreet.com. I got 150 for around $130. I'm getting these invites from David's Bridal: http://www.invitationsbydavidsbridal.com/Wedding-Invitations/Best-Sellers/2947-DBN8376-Treasured-Gems--Onyx--Antique-White-Invitation.pro?pvc=b0b7bc I really wanted an invite that I could customize the colors on.

  • Our STDs are coming from Shutterfly.com The tux shop that FI is getting his and GM tuxes from has a special deal where if you rent 5 or more tuxes you get free invites if you purchase equal number of response cards. The shop has 6 different (and BIG) books to choose from. FI and I are getting 75 invites with response cards for about $85!!! So see if your local tux shop has any deals like that.

  • I got mine at savethedatemagnets.com, great price for custom magnets

Invitations from americanweddings.com (or something close) Amazing prices!! Got double layer invites with bows for under $2 each + constant e-mail coupons. Check em out - looks like I spent a lot more than I did...
  • Our save the dates are from shutterfly. Cheap and cute!  There are a lot of different templates to choose from, too.  We are getting our invitations through A Printable Press. They have been AMAZING!  You pay a flat fee for their template and print them yourself (or, as in our case, send them to a printer). I think they are also rolling out an option where they will do the printing as well.  I've been really happy with their flexibilty and prices. Clicky for more information.

  • We got our save the dates from Vistaprint. Our first set of invitations were from Target, we just had to delay wedding though after printing them, so don't know where second set is coming from as first set was discontinued.
  • Paper goods for us is slightly complicated.

First off: my MOH is a graphic designer and designing everything which is like one of the best wedding gifts ever in my opinion.

Save the Dates: We are ordering ours through our photographer because she has a special printer that she uses from another state. So pricing - ours are $0.62 in postcard size (4x5.5) cardstock weight, pearlized matte finish, and comes with a white/ivory envelope.  It really is annoying to me that my postage is almost as much as the actual cost of the save the date!

Invitaitons: I'm using a local paper warehouse here in town (Anchor Paper Express - Minneapolis) and will have all my paper (invitaitons, programs... everything, etc) for under $200.  We are assembling everything there in the workroom.  It's a lot of manual labor but with all the precision crafters in my tight circle, I have no doubt they'll look top of the line.

This is all for a guest list around 200 and expected attendees of 150.
