So How Does It Work?

This may be a dumb question but here goes: So now that I officially have my photographer and dj, do I add them as guests and provide them with food? If so, when do they stop working during the night to eat and where would they eat? Is this all stuff I should be working out with the dj and photographer and my reception site? Thanks in advance ladies!

Re: So How Does It Work?

  • Yes, ask your caterer about vendor meals. Our venue will do vendor meals for about 1/3 of the regular meal price. I'm not sure where they eat, but they'll probably find a spot out of the way to eat their dinner.

  • Our photographer is going to be with us from 11am until 1 am so....'m including my photographer for dinner (and the lunch befor the 2pm ceremony)and like he said, if I want pictures of people eating, he will take them, he says he eats fast.  I don't really see myself wanting pictures of people eating dinner.  He'll make sure to have pictures when the toasts are going on, after that he'll eat fast and then set himself up for the "events" that come after dinner, cake cutting, dances, etc.
Our Dj, Im planning on food for the dj, but haven't talked to them yet, they will be there from 6-1am so maye he'll just eat the late night stuff we have passed around.
But lke PP said, check with them and your caterer, but I'm sure the caterer will say its up to you.
    Good luck!

  • Thanks so much ladies for all of your help. I really appreciate the feedback. I am definitely going to talk to my photographer and dj about the contract as well as my reception site. I agree that because they are working so many hours that it is only ettiquette that they are fed of course so it's all about working out the kinks. Thanks again.
