Menus

Are you printing menus?

If you are.... one for each place setting? one for each table?

I need guidance.

Re: Menus

  • Nope.  I think it's a waste of paper and people have already made their choices.

  • We aren't printing menus. Instead, we have one big chalkboard menu that will be at the entrance to the reception room.

  • Yes, we are printing menus.  There will be one at each place setting.  Guests can re-order their meal choice at the reception, and I wanted to put the full decription of each choice on the menu cards so that if someone is allergic/doesn't like a component of a meal option, they can pick something else.

Also, our menu cards include a thank you note to our guests on the top.

Here's a pic of our menu card, I've changed it a bit (made the blue a little darker) since taking this pic, but you get the idea.

  • We're having a buffet and everything will be labeled. I'm glad because it's one less thing to worry about!

  • We are doing a buffet. Everything will be labelled. My one pet peeve about buffet is where it is not labelled!

  • We are printing menus. It's very common in my social circle and a lot of times I've found that guests don't always remember what they selected on the RSVP card so it gives them a chance to see all the options.

    Here's mine:

  • we are going to print a menu for each table and have each guests name underneath the food they selected.  Like PP said: people often forget what they ordered anyways.
  • achi, have you not printed your menus yet?
It doesn't have to be perfect to be everything I want!

  • We are having a seated meal, but everyone is getting the same dual entree, so there were no options on RSVPs. I do plan on printing menus, but am having the same dilemma over every plate or one per table. I'm already going to have a card at every place with our "in lieu of favors" note, so I don't want to overload each setting. Plus, printing 140+ menus could get pricey. Still deciding!
  • WE only have one meal option, unless allergies are stated or vegitarian is requested

    so no menus lol
  • I wanted to, especially because our salad/soup course is super yummy and I didn't want people bugging the waiters, "What is this?!", ha. But then since we did an entree choice on our RSVP, I couldn't think of a way to make it work, and when I polled the boards here a while back about it (I was bored and thinking about it way too early), everyone said in that case, it might cause more confusion than help, so I'm not doing it. Unless I get bored again, ha. ;)

  • We are having a Buffet-style dinner and I believe it will all be labeled, but I made a Menu to display on a table easel that sits on the edge of the Guestbook table in the entrance at our venue.

This is a pic I took of where the guestbook table sits at the venue, the brown easel is where i'm going to display a menu.  I made sure my Menu is bigger than the wood part of the easel, but if it doesn't look right when we set it up I have a nice black easel I can use.

  • No menus here. Our food is standard southern fare and if people don't know what bbq slaw baked beans and potato salad are they've been hiding under a rock! We may also add maccheese and green beans as well. My cousin offered to do maccheese..and green beans are a cinch. I just don't exactly know because this is the one part I dont have any sayso in. FIL's are paying/cooking the food.

  • We're having menus, I didn't want to make one for every person so instead I'm putting two double sided menus on each table (we have rectangle tables). I figure that's enough for everyone to be able to read it. We're having 4 courses including dessert (which is just wedding cake) and I was pretty vague on the RSVP (pork or vegetarian pasta), so this way people know what they're eating. One of the first courses is terrine, which I've never had or heard of, but I guess is a pretty common French thing, so I'm sure my side would like to know what the thing is called haha
  • We are having menus printed for each guest. We didn't have them select their meal choice in advance and opted to have everything made fresh whlle we socialize.
Just my two cents! Penny L G M
