How's the budget looking?

Now that our weddings are in the foreseeable future with final payment deadlines fast approaching, I just wanted to see how everyone is doing on their budget.

From the very beginning, we said our wedding would cost X amount and I'm happy to say that we are coming in just under budget so far.  We haven't paid off many vendors, but that's because FI is paranoid that something will happen with one of the vendors and they will run off with our money.  So, we are waiting until the final deadline to pay them.  It's going to be very hard to see such a large amount of money leave our bank account over the course of two weeks :(

How's everyone else doing?  And if you want to remain anonymous, I've added a poll.

Re: How's the budget looking?

  • When ever FI and I have a little extra money we pay as much as we can.. we've paid off DJ, Photographer, Flowers (fake flowers), my dress, and flower girl dress.
We plan on paying for transportation and night of hotel room in July.
I'm paranoid about not being able to pay for last minute wedding things  :(   I worry too much!

  • We finished saving for the wedding in March. I think became in around $7,000 over budget. But, that was our very first budget, before I knew how much a wedding cost!

  • We haven't paid off our vendors yet, but the money is there. We're coming in at about budget for the wedding and we are all saved up for it! The rest of the money we save now is going toward finishing paying for the honeymoon.

The vendors are all under budget....but the little things are starting to add up. I think we'll end up just over budget.

  • I voted right on track but in actuality we had to reset our budget after we changed our minds on what type of reception to have.  So far so good, fingers crossed!

  • We've stretched our budget every which way, but we're right where we said we'd be. We actually may end up being a little under depending on head counts and some reworking of the flowers. When all is said and done, as long as we don't go over I'm happy :)

  • We've pretty much doubled the original budget that we set when we got engaged last June, but we've also come into some extra money we weren't expecting so we can afford it and it will all be paid for by the day of the wedding so I'm not worried about it.

  • I would say right on track. We said nothing more than 15k, and we are under that right now, but still have some smaller misc items and then flowers which I am nervous about. If I include my boobs I might be getting, then that would change to just a little over. I dont think that counts though. I think that is our wedding gift to each other...haha

  • We are right on track. our main goal was not to charge anything but rather pay cash. So far so good, although we still have our largest expense which is the food and drinks. Our honeymoon will be paid off next month, venue is paid for, final payments for the florist, DJ and photos and videos are coming up soon but it's not much. Overall, I think we are right on track.

  • If we don't count the honeymoon we're under budget. If we count it we're just over. But we didn't include hm in our original budget.

  • We're just over, but we're still under 10k so I think we did pretty good :)

  • Well to be honest we never really figured a budget. We're just paying for everything as we go and trying to find the best deals. When its all said and done we'll have paid about 5,000 total which is where we really wanted to be. This of course doesn't include HM as that will be the last thing we plan once all our vendors are paid off. So far FI says everything is looking okay. We've split up the costs and I've handled all MY stuff. Dress accessories etc. Plus ceremony stuff like baskets pillows. My mom and stepdad offered to pay for 500 of my flowers and FI paid for the photographer, dj and reception venue. Our cake is a gift from my aunt and his parents are in charge of food. After everyone chips in their part it'll be right at 5K so I'm very pleased! The only things at this point that I'm not sure about money is the rest of the stuff for my centerpieces and invitations. The only reason I'm worried about the invite money is because they need to be ordered with this paycheck and my car tag is also due.

For the most part we are right on track. We didn't include a honeymoon in our original budget, but because of a bonus from my work, well be able to have one. The main thing I went over on was my dress. I went into this saying I didn't need an expensive dress because I was only going to wear it once, but my mom surprised me by giving me the funds to essentially get what I truly wanted. I am very thankful that it is looking like I'll be having the wedding I've always wanted :).

  • We set a budget without help, but we are getting way more help than I expected.  I'm going to guess that our wedding, total, will be around $25,000 which is way more than I think is reasonable!  But that's everything from rings to honeymoon.  Honestly, I just wanted to go to Vegas!  lol!

  • Lol with the boobs too funny
  • We are right on target if all of our guests come, but since its a DW some may not so we might be under budget. Depends on the final guest count.

  • Right now we're just under budget, by a little over $100. So not by much, but it's still under, so it counts! We still have a lot of stuff to buy, I've bought barely any decor yet, and I think I'll be under by quite a bit in that area.
