October 2012 Weddings

Weather

So its such a beautiful day today here in CT and September 1st brides are going to have a gorgeous day! I know its still 6 weeks till my wedding but it got me thinking about the weather on my day.  I'll totally be going to weather.com 10 days before and stalking the weather report every day.  How many of you ladies are going to do the same?

Re: Weather

  • It's a bit gray here in Chicago - we're supposed to get remnants from Isaac today, so our Sept 1 brides will not have as nice of a day as they could.

I will probably aviod weather.com around the wedding - I can't control it and I really don't want to know about it!  I will have someone check it and make the decision if we need to buy umbrellas for the bridal party, but I might just buy them anyways.
  • Oh, I will be. My wedding's Oct 13, and it's outside in Indianapolis. I've seen 40 degree Octobers and 85 degree Octobers in Indy... I'm hoping for low-mid 60s and sunny. I have a longsleeve lace jacket for my dress, so I'll be warm enough if it's cold out. I'm getting pashminas for my bridesmaids. But if it's freezing or raining, we at least have a pretty room at the venue with glass walls, so we're covered either way.

Accuweather has the forecast 21 days out. Even though it's not that accurate, I'll be looking at it everyday when I can.

Here in VA it's sunny and hot.  That can all change (or not) in 5 weeks. I'll be checking weather.com and accuweather.  Anyone else check out Farmer's Almanac for a general idea about the weather on their wedding day?
  • farmers almanac now has the weekly weather for october by region.
I dont like the report for Oct 27 in the north east: 24th-27th. Fair at first, then turning unsettled.

What does unsettled mean?? Now im worried about my outdoor ceremony...

  • It was hot today :( My car thermostat said 102, so we were definitely upper 90's. 35 days from now could be anything!

According to farmers almanac for the south east US: 20th thru 23rd. Scattered showers, then clearing and unseasonable cold, with an early frost for some localities......that totally sounds inspiring! I was planning for most of my pictures outside..guess I need to find a backup idea and purchase some umberellas...

  • Well, this is not at all helpful to have read.

From the Farmer's Almanac: October 20th-23rd. Severe thunderstorms again roll through Indiana, Ohio, then clearing and unseasonably cold conditions, widespread frost.

Awesome.  I'd like to go kick myself for planning an outdoor wedding.

Maybe it's time to order the heaters for our tents? ;)
