Wow, I NEVER thought I would get my bouquet done two full weeks before the wedding!! I figured I'd be like my friend who finished hers the day before. So I'm really, really, really proud of myself that I finished it tonight! I started really working hard on it yesterday, and got so much done that I decided today was the day I'd finish it. Sure, it took until 2 in the morning (thankfully I don't have to be anywhere until noon tomorrow) but I got it done!
Well, mostly. I've managed to misplace my pearl-headed floral pins to pin the ribbon in place around the handle. Wherever it is, I'm betting I will also find my thin gold ribbon that will break up all the dark red. Once I find those two things, I'll pin everything in place and add my mom's charm bracelet around the base and my grandfather's WWII dog tag, which will both need to be pinned into place.
However, the main part (and hardest part, phew!) is finished!
I have lots of stuff hidden in it with special meaning. A brooch I remember my mom wearing a lot when I was a kid, my dad's Air Force rank pin, a pink ribbon for my grandma and step-grandma who are both breast cancer survivors, three roller coaster pins (the ride FI worked, the ride I work, and the coaster we originally planned to get married on), a chalkboard with a math problem on it (FI's a math teacher), and lots, lots more. Most of the little momentos that represent stuff are buttons, and most of the brooches are actually rings that I bought at a flea market for 50 cents each.
I'm really happy with it! Any opinions?
