RD invitations

I talked to my FMIL about this last weekend (FILs are hosting) and she said to just do invitations via word of mouth, which is fine with me.  I don't plan on sending it out yet, but I was thinking I would just do an email?  I know I would want something in writing to refer back to, and that way people won't need to keep asking us.  If I do email, it will just go to the wedding party and I was wondering if there is a non-tacky way to let them know that their so's are invited.

I think it's fine. We're doing word of mouth too. FI and I are hosting pizza and beer (mmm bloaty food before the wedding) and we'll probably send out an email/facebook invite for the people that need to be there.

We're not sending out formal invites either.  Most people who are invited are in the wedding party, so they'll be with us at our venue before.  If they need a reminder of where the restaurant is, they can ask us then. 

For OOT guests we're including the rehearsal info (as well as any other wedding info) in the welcome bags.

We're doing an evite I think, but we still don't have everything confirmed so we haven't thought of it.

I did invites through VP, they were $9 so its not a big deal.
Only bc our rehearsal is at the church and then the restaurant and i need a head count in advance.

We're doing invites that I DIY'ed (100 days and still adding to my to-do list) to save on money, and I had all of the supplies already.  I found out a few weeks ago that some of the WP didn't know there was a thing called a Rehearsal.  Hmm... So we thought that invites were a good idea given that fact.  Although in their defense, none of them have been in a WP before so.
