Saturday, my sister and niece picked up SD and I and we went to the mall. I have really stressed about this trip. SD is a petite young woman. She is 12, she is fully developed and I wasn't sure how to dress a top heavy petite frame! I decided to just let her pick out dresses and I would veto as needed. She picked out three dresses in the first store. Decided against one after trying them on, and holy cow they were darling on her! I told her I would approve of either, that this was totally her choice. I did encourage her to sit, because she will want to make sure she is comfortable (and I noticed she kept tugging one down!). After the sitting exercise - she chose the longer dress (at the knee, not above)! I asked if she was sure, or if she wanted to look at other stores, she was sure! We picked up an appropriate bra, then to a different store for a bracelet, another for shoes - even a matching headband! A success!
We had hair trials. I will post pictures when I can. It was mostly to get a feel for time and hair. Mine will be up, my sister and niece will be half up, and SD down with her new headband. My niece and I both have naturally curly hair. I only put Silk Therapy in mine, and the stylist said she will bring a diffuser and stuff to put in for texture. My hair is fine and baby soft, she thinks I need something or it will slip out and not hold (I know, it looks wild!). I am pleased with how long and how it looked - we will give me a slight side part, it was in the middle.
Saturday night, FI's friends (the wives of all his couple friends) threw me a bachelorette party. The guys were supposed to go out, then we would all meet back up. Well, the guys failed to make plans. FI woudn't come with me, so I left without him! One of the women decorates cakes, and mine was shaped like ... yeah ... like one of those

LOL It was crazy delicious. Since the men failed to make plans, we all hung out together and it really was great. I am still in awe they did that for me! A bachelorette sash, the cake, decorations...one of the women brought a gift. The home it was hostessed from - she had a crazy day! Her daughter is a cheerleader at Oklahoma State University - her car was towed during yesterday's game. They drove down in a panic, only to find she has some odd swelling/infection across her forehead and NO food! All that, and that woman apologized for not bringing me a gift. They are so sweet, and have been so welcoming to me! Most of FI's friends are longstanding friends of 20 years. It is a big deal to me. Both because my exh-H's friends hated me, and because I want FI to always be comfortable to have me with him. I sent out heartfelt thank you's on my way to work today.
FI still has not had a lead re:job. He picked up something viral, and was miserable and feverish yesterday. When I picked up groceries, I swung by Sam's and bought the nuts and plastic cups for punch. The only purchases I still need to make are mints and a few bags of kisses for favors. Then, I need to budget hair cuts and mani/pedi the week before, the hairstylist the day of for SD and I, SD's dress and the boys shirts to the cleaners...that's it! Well, the marriage license. I'm so close!
