Finally pulling the trigger!

FI and I have been engaged for a year and a half.  If anyone asked me, I would never recommend it.  Too much time to stir and second-guess.  I have not been able to pull the trigger on anything for fear of finding something better and cheaper down the road.

Well, I'm very excited so that say that I FINALLY ordered the lanterns for my centerpieces.  I also ordered the remaining boxes of silk fall leaves.  Now I just need to find cheap wood slabs and moss to complete it.  I took a chance and just ordered all of the lanterns online without physically seeing them -  so crossing my fingers that I like them!

Re: Finally pulling the trigger!

  • Where did you find lanterns? I've been looking for cheap ones for our cocktail hour.

I ordered them through superwholesaler.com i got 24 small stagecoach lanterns for about $100.  $120 if you include the shipping cost.  I've just been googling table lanterns and usually get a good amount of hits.
  • Where are you getting your fall leaves from? And how much if you don't mind me asking? I want to include fall leaves in my centerpieces as well but I'm hesitant to order because all the leaves I find online have a mix of good and bad reviews. I should just suck it up and order but I feel like I should wait for just the right leaves

  • michaels has moss.. it's quite messy but it's definitely an option if you don't find it someplace else. And of course they always have those coupons!  I got a long runner size piece of moss covered something and will be cutting that up to go under the laterns I bought.  I started to do it in the house though and it was everywhere so I will need to do that outside when I finally finish that part.

I don't mind at all!  I got the leaves at save-on-crafts.com  They have these tubs of 100 fall leaves for about $6.  I think they have other types of fall leaves on their site but I haven't looked that closely at those prices.  I've already placed and received an order of one tub.  I just ordered 5 more yesterday.
  • Anyone still looking for lanterns- Check out target and other local stores for some clearance items.  My local Target has 2 difference sizes of lanterns on clearance.  If I were doing centerpieces, I'd have snatched them up!

  • I saw the lanterns at Target and almost bought them...I just didn't want to spend the $. But I guess it was a good deal and I wouldn't have to worry about shipping. I may take a trip this weekend again to see if they are still there.
