Productive weekend

We did our cake tasting and ended up booking our baker. The cake was so good I'm not sure how I'm going to pick a flavor the day of lol. Even better instead of having to freeze the top layer and eat gross cake a year later this lady includes a fresh anniversary cake.

I also got the flowers from Michaels 50% off for under my brooch bouquet and for our arbor my step dad and I are building. Yay saving money!

My FILs were also in town and helped us with some projects around the house. We  set a date for me to go up to Chicago to go BM dress shopping with FI's sisters and my MOH. So nice to finally get to where I can focus on the details, only big things left are the girl's dresses, guys attire, and planning a menu.

How is everyone else feeling about where they are in planning?

Some days I feel good others its like omg where to start. I think because we're having to wait until his truck is paid for with taxes to have the extra to actually make the deposits etc. So the only things we really have booked are the sites. Our ceremony is in the church and reception will be in a beautiful historic town's community center. We've talked to the caterers so that's pretty much taken care of....we have to give them a definate answer, menu by June. I've been talking with a photographer and am in the works of trying to set up a meeting. Hopefully all goes well there. The flowers we're doing wholesale and doing with his cousins wife who used to do arrangements...so I guess we wait until closer to time for that...not really sure. Guess I should ask Karen that question. 2/3 of my BM have picked their dresses and the other is planning to shop in the next few days. I've spoken with a baker and I want to set up a meeting with her and FI. She's family (but extended) and I'm not sure she realized who I was when I went and spoke with her. I'm hoping my mom & stepdad will pay for the cake. I know they can't help much but when FI's parents are planning to help with the catering $1500...asking $400ish for a cake doesn't seem like a lot...they said they want to help they just can't afford a lot. So idk we'll get it worked out. Our honeymoon is up in the air because we can't agree what we want to do..I want a cruise because I just feel like they're a better value than renting a cabin in the mountains and then having to fork out for every little thing you do, drink, or eat. I just can't see myself enjoying cooking on my honeymoon haha. Oh I've ordered my dress that's another big thing that IS checked off

I feel good about things overall. We have had most of the big things done since November. Now it is just the little details. I forget about things like an aisle runner or programs (if we do any). The little things seem to add up.

Right now I'm trying to decide which of our epics to order for our card box. We are making this. I got the idea from someone on this board I think. I also need to decide what to order all together.
