S/O Health and Fitness

So from the snack food post (which made me hungry!), I saw a lot of us are working on losing a few pounds before the wedding. 

Would you guys want to pick a day and have an update post on how we are doing?  We do this on my local board and it's helpful!  Kind of an accountibility thing and to AW our triumps.  Just wanted to know if anyone else would be interested...

  • Any day is good for me :) I weigh in on Saturdays but I will be up to changing. I have lots of weight I want to lose. I gained 55 pounds in the last year :(

  • I weigh in on Saturdays or Sundays too but maybe this could be a mid-week check up!  Get some motivation before weigh in?

    I lost half my goal, 25 lbs, around the time I met FI... then gained 10 love pounds, and 15 from not being about to work out after a car accident.... so I'm back to where I started from with 50 to lose.  started WW last month and when I follow it I do GREAT.  And i'm back to running etc so I really need motivation!  I wanted to lose 15 before June 26th, my friend's bridal shower.

  • Well then - how is everyone doing this week?!

    I ran Monday.  I'm up to 3 mins of running 4 times in 20 mins.  I was following C25K, but ended up doing my own thing.  Knee is a little tweaky today, and I see the othro tomorrow.  I'm thinking he'll tell me what he always tells me, I have to strengthen the muscles and lose weight.  I want to do Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred tonight. 

    I've been eating better, sticking to Weight Watchers.  I've lost 3.2, and really hope to be down 5 lbs ASAP.

    I'm in!  I have totally slacked off, and I look and feel it!

    FI and I used to work out together 6 days a week last summer.  I switched to working nights (bartending) and that pretty much went out the window.  I have gradually gained back the 20 lbs I had lost, and I hate it!

    I am going to buy a scale this weekend, so I can track my progress.  I know *about* where I'm at, just bc of how I look in my clothes.  Ideally, I would like to lose the same 20 I'm constantly fighting, along with an additional 10. 

    My mom is coming into town this afternoon, so I'll be committed to family stuff most of the week.  I do hope to be able to squeeze in some gym time, though.  My trainer is sending me nasty messages and wondering if I'm still alive!

  • It might be a few weeks before I really start to do much, but once I get started I'd like to be a part of it. It might help me stay on track.
  • Love the idea. I am in. I want to lose 80#'s...wishful thinking but I am going to do it.

    I have been doing this thing called Hard Exercise Works (which to me should really be called Hard Exercise HURTS), but its a 5 week bootcamp and you go an hour a day M-F, Saturday if you want. I just finished Week 3 and I have lost 13lbs so far. They also have a food plan I have been following and LOVE it. Its lots of fruits, veggies, and meat...and I LOVE fruit and meat so its perfect for me. I usually weigh in on Saturday morning...but willing to do whenever. I am also on myfitnesspal.com, so if anyone wants to join that its great too. It gives you a calorie goal, you log your daily meals and exercise (which adds more to your calorie goal the more you work out), and you have a profile so everyone can watch you lose weight. NO, people can not see your actual weight unless you want them to. I am  fishinflagirl on there too.

  • I am on sparkpeople and I log in everything I eat and all of my work out minutes. I try to eat 1200-1500 calories everyday and go the gym for an hour Mon-Fri. I usually just jog or do the elliptical.

    Today I can't go to the gym because I have a dinner date with the FI and my son. I am eating way out of calorie range today. Damn those gourmet cupcakes for looking so good!!!

    Kala - It's it frustrating to lost weight you ALREADY LOST?!

    Fish - YAY for 13 lbs!  Haha I'm kinda doing the meat and fruit thing.  I LOVE FRUIT and since it's 0 points now on WW I joined haha!  I might have to check out this myfitnesspal, I heard it was a app on smart phones...

    Sam - I've been on SP for a few years!  Same screenname if you want to hit me up on there.  It's good, but I just burned out counting calories... and I'm learning not all calories are equal.  I still get on because I found great support on there!

    i've always struggled with my weight being really heavy in middle and high school, since then i've managed to lose a significant amount but believe me with bad genes, loving to eat and having an italian mother that loves to feed me i need to do everything possible to maintain it

    today i had my self defense and fitness class (which i take 2x a week) then FI and I ran 4.2 miles outside when I got home, we are doing the Ragnar Relay on Friday/Saturday...super nervous but excited!!!

    i also use myfitnesspal.com to log my food=)
  • Mana - Thanks, I was happy seeing how much I lost.
    Yes, myfitnesspal is also an app for your phone. So, its easy to use no matter where you are. Add me as a friend, its almost like a facebook...you have a profile, weight ticker, and you can view others food logs and exercises. Its fun! Oh, and comment on others profiles.
