TMI problem...

If I stay on my usual schedule, I should start my period this month on the 26th, one day before my wedding.  I thought the stress would throw me off track, but cramps set in today and now I'm thinking I'll be right on time.  Geez!  I don't really think there is anything I can do to change it at this point so I will just deal with it.  But still, REALLY?  I'm actually laughing right now because it is so ridiculous.  Anyone else in the same boat at all?

Re: TMI problem...

  • I'm confused, you're not expecting AF until the 26th but you're having cramps 10 days before. I don't usually feel crampy until a few hours before.

Unfortunately there's not much you can do. If you are on the pill, just start your next pack and you should be ok.

  • I know it's a little strange but that's how I've always been.  Cramps about 10 days before and then they stop, then start again a few days before.  Weird, I know, but the same since I was 11.  I do go to the doc and nothing is wrong, just have a unique cycle I guess!

Just wanted to gripe to a few people who could empathize :)
  • My doctor told me that if I was going to look llike I was going to start and i could get into see her quick enough, that she would start me on a high dose of the pill...to stop it so it wouldn't be there for the wedding...luckly im not in this boat as hanging out with my MOH so much over the summer....we both changed to end up going at the same time...but its a thought.  My doctor said she would do it for me....could it be an option for you?

  • I might check that out, thank you!! :)

We are honeymooning for 10 days and we're not leaving until 2 days after the wedding, so even if I do start the 26th I'll have some time in the honeymoon where I'm "done."

I'm more worried that my dress is tough to get in and out of by myself than I am about the sex thing honestly, lol.
  • i'm in the same boat! mine is supposed to start around the 25-26 and my wedding is the 28th.  i'm worried about being gross!
  • I saw my doc back in august and she said as long as you are on the pill you really dont need to have your period, so you can skip that week of placebo pills and just start the next pack. I was scheduled to have mine during the wedding, since I was more concerned about red on my white dress, she had me skip the past two months so I have it now, it will finish by saturday making it long gone by the 27th. I'm on a low dose pill but have been on it for years and it still stops it from happening if I skip the inactive week.

  • I should be getting mine about 9 days before the wedding. I'm praying it isn't late this month!!! :(

  • I'm on the pill so I actually started mine a week earlier by not taking the last weeks worth of pills.  I should be off by Thursday or Friday of this week.

I would definitely call your doctor to see if there's anything she can do.  She may be able to give you a shot to start your period now, so that you are off by your wedding date.

  • I actually got mine on my wedding day, but I was also expecting that a year and a half out. It wasn't too terrible.  Just make sure that if you normally get crampy the day of, that you stay on top of advil.  Going to the bathroom was the worst part, and thankfully, I only did that once while in my dress - at the end of the night before leaving the reception.

  • Before I was on birth control, I used to just get the morning after pill to delay my period.  Everyone's body is different, but it used to delay my period by a week.

  • I'm on the pill...I just skipped my inactive pills to keep mine from coming. My dr said it was fine to do it once in a while. I was scheduled to start on this passed Friday but didn't want to take any chances of it being here on Sat! Red and White are NOT a good combo! Talk to your Dr they can advise you best.

  • My period started 2 days before the wedding. My bridesmaids dresses had pockets so I designated my sister as my 'tampon holder' haha. I had the 'backup plan' on throughout the day, so I only changed once during the reception. I got into the stall and was like "Ummmm I'm not sure how I'm going to do this...." haha. Once I scooped up the entire skirt of the dress into my arm (which took a little while), it actually wasn't that difficult. Thankfully no cramps during the wedding, I was worried about that. I packed some Midol just in case. H was pretty disappointed I was on my period. He said we have to keep the dress at least a month so he can have some fun with me in it haha.
  • I was supposed to start mine 2 days before my wedding, but I got lucky and started 6 days before so I was done by the day of. You could try the plan b pill. It's supposed to flush out your system, so maybe it could make you start early.

  • Mine was suppose to start yesterday but I haven't started yet. I'm hoping I just completely skip it and it doesn't land this weekend since my wedding is the 20th OR on the honeymoon! I'm not even sure what to do at this point. I usually only have my period for 4 days, I'm lucky that way. ALso in response the previous post, I get cramps when I'm ovulating which is 10-14 days prior to the start of my period, not with my period. It seem's as though everyone is different though but cramps are more popular during ovulation when you release an egg.

I did this two months ago when I realized I'd be starting the 26th too (for my 10/27 wedding). If you're on the pill and can do this, I'd recommend it. Of course, you could/should call your doctor to confirm that this is ok.
  • UGH my period started today and i'm getting married in 3 days! Luckily I'm on of those people whose period isn't very heavy and the heaviest part only lasts about 2 days so Saturday should very light. I told FI and he said we can work around that! ;) He's such a sweetheart! Anyway, I hope it works out for you!
