half a check!

So excited that I've finally figured out what I'm doing for centerpieces and have picked up the beginnings of my supplies! I purchased 24 cylinder vases for my submerged orchid centerpieces and picked up some of the flowers just to play around and experiment with! Now I need to decide if I want to get the stuff that hardens to solidify it so they won't move and float or just do water...and pick up the rest of the flowers needed and the votives to go around them!

Re: half a check!

  • Congrats on the half check!  I'm doing some submerged centerpieces as well.  I wouldn't get the stuff that hardens mainly for resale purposes.  I'm thinking you won't want to keep 24 vases after your wedding and will probably try to resell them.  They will be easier to move if they are just plain vases and not filled with anything permanent.

  • Surely someone would rather NOT do the work lol. I just keep seeing someone bumping a table and flipping it over and water going all over some guest! Not to mention they're floating up and out of the water when I add it and I don't know what else to do to make them stay down!

  • You can tie a fishing weight to the bottom of it.  I do flowers on the side for weddings and have been doing it for a few years now.  I have never heard of someone bumping into the table hard enough to cause the table to flip over.  Unless you are having tiny 4 person tables, I would put that worry out of your mind.  In the end, do what you think will work best for you.  It was just a suggestion to think about :)
