S/O tattoos...

Because the poll below got me thinking about it and I thought it'd make a cool get-to-know-you question.

Tattoos: who's got 'em? Where? And of what? Post pics of your ink if you feel like it, too!

I've got two; the Japanese kanji for 'endurance' on my right shoulderblade, and the line "Only for now" from the musical Avenue Q on my left ankle. Fun fact - the "Only for now" tattoo was done at Hart and Huntington in Las Vegas, the place where they used to film the show "Inked"!

No tatoos. Fi doesn't have any either. I debated about getting one in my early 20s for years but could never bring myself to do it.

I have 2 tattoos. One is a butterfly on my hip - it was one of those "I can get a tattoo on my own so let me go to a tattoo shop, pick a design off the wall and get that!" haha! I actually still really like it - it's small and nice! The other one I put some thought into. I went to my friend's tattoo shop after my grandmother had died (we were super close) and had him design a tattoo for me. It's angel wings with my grandmother's initials in the middle and a halo on top. It's on my back.

I have two, the first one I got when I was 18 is of two butterflies interwined on my ankle, a friend was getting one and i was like oh cool let me get a tattoo too
My 2nd tattoo is of a flower on my lower back, you know the "tramp stamp" lol i got it in college, my roommate was getting her 2nd or 3rd tattoo and i decided to get another...i think the reason i did was bc i just found out my dad (who had had a heart attack, bypass surgery already) might have something wrong with his heart, he didnt though and my parents kept it from me, i was sad and mad at the same time and thought the tattoo would take away the pain...idk?!?!

FI doesnt have any and never will, he has nothing against mine he just isnt a tattoo person

Lower mid back ofter refered to as the tramp stamp area a tribute to one of my childhood friends who died in a very tragic car accident. (The ink got washed out from several epidurals and back procedures) cant wait to get it re done soon

I also have a tribal on each sholder blade one is a bunch of stars and the other a bunch of flowers, as well as a shamrock on my right ankle

I have one on my foot.  It says "Batach"  it's the hebrew word for trust from Psalm 62:8.

I have none and FI has none. I just never had anything I identified with or wanted enough to get one. I have come close though. If I were to get one it would be on my pelvic area so It would not typically been seen.

I have 4.
1st one when I was 18, and a screw you mom ill do whatever I want...I ended up getting kicked out of my house b/c of this stupid one. Its a heart with my initials in it on my lower back to the right. not a tramp stamp.
 
2nd at 19, a black and white seahorse on my right foot. (1 of my favs)

3rd at 20, the florida flag wrapped around an anchor, I call this my Southern Boater tat  (my other fav) on my right ankle

4th at 21, nautical star on my lower neck, this one has faded bad...errrr

I still want a few others, my next is going to be very pricey. Its a sailfish (Stuart, Florida - the city I was born, raised, and will never leave - is the sailfish capital of the world) and it jumping in a gorgeous sunrise (my gramma means the world to me, and "our" thing is to go and watch the sunrise).

That was long.... wish I had pics on this computer... I dont.

</div><div>This would be why I got 6 tattoos in 4 months lol ! but it was a screw you to my step mom who when i mentioned to my dad i wanted 1 small shamrock (about the size of a quarter) he said i dont care and she blew a gasket yea ok now you get to look at a whole bunch lol o man was that a fun few months also got my tounge clit belly button and nipples pierced in the same few months made sure to tell her every week what was new haha i was such a little brat!. These days now that im an old lady with a 4 year old everything is gone but the belly button (and the tats of course)

I have three. 

My first one I got when I was 18.  My mother always told me "I don't want you to go away to college and come back with a tattoo" sooooooo what did I do??? I got one two days BEFORE I left.  She never said I couldn't leave for school with one :-) it was a yellow rose that faded in color and I had it redone in blue (takes longer to fade) On lower right side of back




2nd is the triple moongoddess sign, it stands for She who was, She who is, & She who shall be. On right ankle.




3rd is an interesting design of a moon & star. On left ankle.




When I get to the end of my weight loss journey I plan on getting another one as a Congrats to myself :-)

None currently. There are a couple I've been wanting though. One of the main ones that I want and semi-designed back in high school, I'm going to get my Fiance to alter just enough to add my Daddy's initials and birth and death dates to it and have as a tribute piece to him. I've held off on tribute pieces to my Grandma and Grandpa for years because I wear a lot of tank tops and don't really want them visible to everyone since they are so personal and I want them done on my shoulder blades with a tribute to their long lasting marriage in between (just shy of 62 years and they died 12 days apart), still undecided if I will ever end up doing those.

My fiance has 3. The Marine Eagle Globe and Anchor on his left arm, a dragon on his back, and a couple Chinese symbols on his calf for his daughter (if I remember correctly it translates to Baby Girl)

I have 2. My first I got at 19. It's a tribal heart that is in the middle of my upper upper back. Just above my shoulder blade. Its faded a lot, but it's my favorite and I'm looking forward to getting it redone. But I like almost anything that is heart shaped.

My 2nd one is a horse rearing up on it's hind legs and its on my lower back off to the right side. I have a love/hate for this one. I took my own drawing into the artist, and it was pretty small, maybe 2.5inches tall and looked all feminine. I told the artist I was okay with making it bigger because I really wanted to add a little cross on its hindquarter.At first he tried to sell me on some huge design off his wall that was a unicorn. I told him I liked my drawing, because I felt it symbolized me. He finally relented. Well, when I got back he had changed the design a little and it looked NOTHING like what is actually on my skin--it actually looks a lot like the stupid design off his wall. Now its all mean and masculine looking and he "forgot" to put the cross on it, and wanted to charge me an extra $20 to add it afterwards. *grumble* Still mad about it, but I am going to get it fixed to as close to my original drawing. Anyways

Now my FI has 6 on his skin and working with his cousin for his next piece. He has a crucifix on his left arm. A weird flying dragon/eyeball thing, and 4 on his wrist. A black cross, Kanji for Family, Kanji for Good Luck, & Kanji for Wanderer.

I have 3 shamrocks on my lower back.  From far away it actually looks like 1 big shamrock.  I got it when I was 19 just because I could and picked it off the wall.  I still love it and I actually get a lot of compliments on it.  They are green with a little bit of yellow and after 11 years the color is still bright.

FI is actually going today to finish a half sleeve on his left arm.  Its a phoenix and some flowers and the ocean and some other stuff.  He also has some weird tribal thing that he picked off the wall when he was drunk and one of those arm band things on his right arm.  He plans on covering those up next with another half sleeve.

I have a fairy on the outside of my right ankle, and a light blue ribbon on the inside of my left that says Cure SD, which is a rare skin disease that my mom has that currently has no cure, nor is there any doctors that I'm aware of that are looking for one.  I want a lot more, if I could get away with it for my job I would get a full sleeve, but that's not going to happen so I stick to hiding places.

FI has 7, one which he is almost done with is a half sleeve, I'm so jealous!

We both love tattoos, always have, just wish we had the money to do what I wanted with them!

I have "Love is all you need" on the side of my right foot. My Fiance has the venom symbol on his foot.

I have 3 and will get my 4th (sons foot priint and name) when i'm finished nursing

my first: Angel wing to represent my mom (no she is not dead) with a feather to represnent my dad. They split when i was 18 and i had a hard time dealing with it


my second on my righ hip: Endometriosis ribbon with a lilly I have stage 3 endometriosis and have had several sergeries for it and this represents my struggle

Third: Back piece - hibiscus flowers with music wrapped anround them. Music is a huge part of my life

I have 4...and want to get rid of all of them!  The first 3 I got when I was 21: chinese symbol for laughter on left hip, chinese year of the monkey on right hip, Buddhist OHM on lower middle back. Then, at 24, I got the chakras all down my spine. All of them are black ink. I've changed so much since those years. And even though I thought I'd never want them removed when I got them, my personality is sooo drastically different now that I cover them up at every opportunity.

When I was in college I had a friend who had many tattoos. I went with her when she made an appointment to get  a new one.  She talked me into get one- a pretty flower piece just above my toes.  I made the appt, put the 10 dollars down and never went back.  I totally chickened out....

FI and I have none. He's definitely not into tattoos. I don't think I'd ever get one. There's nothing I like enough to have it permanently put on my body. I'm afraid of commitment! I really just think I'd regret anything I got.
