Weekend checks? What did we all get done?

I see a lot of people got some big checks done this weekend. Woo-hoo! Anyone else? FI and I were up in the town where our venue is, and met up with our cake lady. We loved everything (especially the price!!) and were happy to move forward with that.

We were going to go wedding band shopping (and do our taxes!), but St. Patty's Day festivities got in the way. :-/

Got our Save the Dates Started...just need postage, and Address labels added, and they will be ready to go.

ALL my Girls got their dresses ordered on Saturday!! 

So I think I FINALLY have ALL the Big stuff for now

I didn't get anything done.  I wasn't planning on it either.  I have been so stressed about everything it has been nice to not think about it so much.  We did talk to our friend about different resorts for our honeymoon since he is an analyst for Liberty Travel.  He had a very interesting take on things.  It was very different than when you got to the actual travel agent...

Yes! Got lots done! We met and booked our DJ for an amazing price of $450 w/ lighting and MC! We also got our wedding bands at Kay's! I also got the flower girl basket and frames for our engagement pics. When we got home he hung them up and they looked great! Whoohoo! What other things do you ladies have left to do?

Well the beginning of the weekend did not start well. I had a mini breakdown over the finances of planning a wedding. After that passed, FI and I got some stuff done on Sunday. We are making our own invitations. We got all of the invitations finished and got our stamps (decorative, not mailing) on the envelopes. Just need to do the RSVP cards.

I found my invitations!  I ordered samples, and some samples from cardsandpockets.com to see if I can get away with cheaper pocketfolds.

I booked the company that's doing my invites, programs, menus and other paper products, had my makeup trial and met with the DJ to go over the uplighting and got that all sorted out.

I've had a stressful week this past one. Had a meet and greet with a Pastor from a church that we were supposed to get married at. The meeting went horrible and he made us feel like horrible people b/c we live together before marriage. On the paperwork we filled out when we booked our church 7 months ago we had put on there that we live together. Nobody said a word - then 6 months before the wedding it's an issue that we live together before marriage and he was being a jerk about marrying us. Plus we had our invites done already with the church info So, we had to all of a sudden start hunting for a new church and then I ended up in the hospital for an emergency appendix removal. Ahhh - I could use a drink after all of that! LOL But we found a new church through a friend of ours that we're going with. Called David's Bridal where I got our invites from and they were awesome. With the way our invites are made we can get just the page where it has our church info on re-printed and they dont have to re-order whole new invites - so it'll cost us only $40 rather than $200! So, it all worked out but man - what a stressful time! Other than that we worked on our slideshow for the wedding. We have everything else done aside from programs and of course paying off all the big stuff!

We bought our wedding bands yesterday! I can't stop taking them out and looking at them, and trying mine on, haha.

Addressed, stamped, and mailed wave 2 of our STDs.  FI's mom didn't have all of her guest list done, so I mailed the out of town STDs on my side 2 wks ago (because hotels are aleady booking up).  We still have another set of STDs to do b/c FI didn't have all the addresses of his work friends.  Eventually, I'll be able to totally cross this off my list!

We finalized our invitation wording. . We are pretty ahead on the checklist, which is awesome. I also worked on my bouquets a little bit. 

Now we just have to get my wedding band (got his), book someone for hair and makeup and make the centerpieces. 

Whew! We are sooo close, girls!!!

Yes, a couple of things!
FI and I got our wedding bands=) I'm so excited I didnt want to take it off!! We had gone back to the jeweler FI got my e-ring from before Christmas and I narrowed it down to 2, then over the weekend we went back and I ended up getting something other than the 2 I had narrowed it down to. FI just went with a simple band that wouldnt scratch since he is in construction/engineering!







4 of my BMs have an appt 3/24 to get measured for their dresses, I talked to FI's sister last night (i had posted last week about my dilemma with her that she may or may not be prego and what to do) and the convo was great and we were both understanding and said she was prepared to pay for whatever alterations, I also told her its one day and one dress, so do what she has to do, who am I to tell her she cant get pregnant....so im no longer stressed about that!

Non WR- FI and I picked up our taxes, he got measured for his tux for his best friend's wedding in July and we spent 2.5 hours in Home Depot on Sunday, we bought a bunch of stuff to start a couple of home projects=)

I made an appointment with my cake lady and decided on my centerpieces! I'm still in the early planning stages since it's going to be a smaller wedding.

Friday I drove down to Queens to pick up candleholders a girl was selling in the classfied section on here :-) We will be using them on all the tables as our centerpieces and she had 2 extra candleabras from her upcoming wedding that she was able to sell me as well for our sweetheart table.  I am thinking of putting water in each one and using a cream colored floating candle in each. 

Last weekend we finalized our videographer and switched out photographer.  Save the dates went out last week, invite kits were purchased.  Bridesmaids dress appt is this coming sunday to start trying some one.  Pretty sure most of big check are done and out of the way!

This weekend I went dress shopping for my mom and she found her dress.  Very exciting and one more thing off the list (well, more her list than mine but still exciting).  I think I'm going to start ordering some of the centerpiece decor this week so I can make sure it's what I really want.  I can't believe how fast time is flying!

I will happily admit I got nothing checked off the list this weekend, because I spent the entire time relaxing at the beach in sunny Florida with a couple of girlfriends!

However, this coming week and weekend will be extremely busy with florist meetings, our food tasting, bridesmaid dress shopping, and picking out the stationary, namely save the dates. We aren't getting engagement photos taken until next month, so we'll need to rush to get them out - we want to have our options narrowed down so we can "fill in the blank" with a photo! (Sometimes I feel like we're on top of planning, other times I feel so behind!)

I got nothing wedding related done this weekend, but I'm pretty ahead of the game so it's okay. Instead I got yardwork done! It was a VERY unseasonable 70 degrees in Vermont this weekend and looks like we'll have the same weather for the next few days so I've been outside enoying it while it lasts. It's going to be back in the seasonable 50's by Friday, so I can't pass up the opportunity to be outside.

My Mom came from out of state so we did a lot of wedding stuff this weekend with my fiance.

We had our menu tasting. We're having a huge buffet with a prime rib carver! yum!
We had our cake tasting and all loved carrot cake with cream cheese icing!
We picked out our florist and her centerpieces are 4x less expensive than other quotes I got so I can afford floral centerpieces for all the tables!

It was a good weekend for wedding stuff. Now onto finishing my taxes...

We had our first marriage prep session at church this weekend and we booked a couple of the daily excursions for our honeymoon.

We also ate a lot of corned beef and cabbage with my Irish family.
