Video editing?

We recently got our wedding video back and it is just not what we expected at all.. We only paid 1000 which is still expensive but considering how much most videographers are it wasn't too bad. But I guess you get what you pay for....there was no editing done and it appears that the video camera was sitting on a tripod most of the time due to all of the crotch shots ( sorry for being gross). Anyway does anyone know of anyone who does post wedding video editing? I appreciate any help!

Re: Video editing?

  • hey I am really sorry about your experience and honestly 1000 dollars is good price for the video editing.  They obviously just wanted your money.  Here is a website to a video business I know and hopefully they can help.   http://altanglemedia.com/home.html

  • JK: I am also looking to have my video re-edited. I am having a very hard time. The only person I found wants me to sit with him (for $50 an hour) and show him where I want the cuts then he will do the editing work (for $50 an hour). He thinks it might cost me another $1,000.

My sister's company is starting to do web videos for marketing purposes and they will be working with University of Delaware students.  She is going to ask the professor for someone in his class who is interested in going into wedding videography who might want to do it for less than $1,000.

I put out a bunch or requests with different companies and got no responses.

  • Did it say in your signed contract that editing was included? For $1000, there should have been some editing. I would check that out and go back to them with the contract so that they give you what you paid for unless it was not included in the package described within the contract. Also if you don't mind my asking, who did you use?

I went to school for video editing (and do it on the side sometimes) and I would never pay $1000 for something that did not include the editing. I know that some videography companies charge a few thousand but even at a cheaper rate, you should have a final finished product rather than something that looks like raw footage. I'm really sorry that this happened to you. If you still need some names, PM me and I will give you a few companies that I know are decent.
