XP: STDs

Do the addresses on the save the dates need to be as formal? Or should they be addressed like the actual invitations?ie: Should they be addressed to Mr and Mrs John Doe?Or can they be addressed to John and Jane Doe?

Re: XP: STDs

  • I slacked and made some of them (mostly my friends and FI's friends and close family) less formal. I tried to keep those people that I'm not as close to and those that I know are sticklers for formality with the formal Mr. and Mrs address.

I think if you're having a more laid back wedding, you can go more laid back with STDs.

  • I think you can be more casual.

We did a mix of both depending on who they were addressed to. For grandparents' generation and other people we didn't know as well, we wrote formal. For our friends with kids, we just wrote "The Doe Family"

  • Ditto to PPs

With close friends I did first names:
    John & Jane Smith

For older generation, parent's friends, people i am not close with, i did:
    Mr & Mrs John Smith

If it was a family I did:
The Smith family or John Smith & family for more casual (like my uncle, aunt and 5 kids)
  • If it was one person, I wrote their name with no "Miss/Ms/Mr."
For married couples, I did "Mr. & Mrs."
For cohabitating or dating couples, I wrote both of their names with no "Miss/Ms/Mr."
For families with children who were being invited, I did "The XX Family."
  • Ours were much more casual. I did John and Jane Doe, rather than Mrs. and Mrs.
