Ok, so I approved that all of my bridesmaids could pick their own dresses. My stipulations were that they had to be tea length, black with some kind of shamrock trim. I went to the bridal shop with my bridesmaids and we narrowed it down to 5 dresses that they could choose from. Most of the girls had two that they liked and said they would order a different time. I figured that was fine but gave them a week deadline to make up their minds. As I left the bridal store the clerk had me sign something saying that they could pick any of these specific style numbers, in X length and X color.
One bridesmaid went back yesterday and they handed her three dresses, one of which was completely the wrong designer and didn't come in the right color. She figured it out and picked on of the approved dresses. I let this go, we all make small errors.
Today, another bridesmaid went in to pick hers. They let her grab completely different dresses and try on whatever she wanted. She called me to ask if she could order a different dress and buy the shamrock material (from the same company) to make a sash. I approved it because she really seemed to love the dress, but am now a little worried the sash might look funny.
I guess the reason I'm irritated is, why did they let her try on the dress when they had me sign something approving only specific style numbers? I mean, do they let all bridesmaids just do whatever they want? That can't go over well. I was going to order tuxes from there too but now I don't know.
