A friend of my parents had offered to marry us last July when we first got engaged. Around October of last year, I tried to contact him once, but my mom told me he was in Florida for the winter and he would definitely be in touch when he got back. Due to schedule conflicts, we weren't able to get in touch with him until August, when he informed us he was no longer legally able to marry. Cool. Thanks.
So I went online and found four different local JOPs who sounded nice and professional and sent out e-mails. Only ONE of those people ever responded, and she sounded nice and was reasonably priced, so we sent her a deposit after talking to her on the phone and confirming that she was able to be there on our wedding day. She said that she was going to e-mail us a copy of the ceremony, then we could meet with her as needed to adjust anything we want to. I still haven't received anything. We literally have no idea what the ceremony is going to be like.
I have tried calling twice and e-mailing once. In the voicemail I left with her on Wednesday, I made it very clear that it was urgent that I speak with her and that we were kinda freaking out with the wedding being less than two weeks away.
I'm thinking about trying to find another JOP and just telling her forget it, even if it means losing the deposit we sent her, but I can't believe we got TWO crappy JOPs. And I can't believe it's this close to the wedding and we don't have the ceremony planned out.
Any suggestions? I am TERRIFIED at this point that we will end up with no one. One of my BMs who just got married last year is talking to her vendors to see if they know anyone who would be willing to be "on call" in case my JOP doesn't get back to me. But I don't know what to do. Freaking out.
