Checks and Worries

Good Stuff first, FINALLY got our Save the Dates out...and will be booking our HM flight tomorrow...so two more checks off the list!!

But now that almost all "big" stuff is done, I have started worrying that I have not done planning for the "little" details and that im going to forget something, or that my wedding is going to look to "generic"...I have that I have Generalized Anixety Disorder, which now throw a wedding in....HAHAHAH!!  Just to get that out there.

Hope everyone is having a good night!!  :)

Re: Checks and Worries

  • Deep breaths. I have these worries too - that I'll get to the reception and be like "where is X? Oh ya, I didn't plan it!"

Have you used Pinterest? I find it's very helpful for planning and searching for new ideas I might not have thought of. But try not to worry, if you don't have all the little extras that the wedding has deemed "necessary" your wedding will not be any less awesome.

  • Oh I hear that!  I keep thinking I need to rush out and buy the little stuff before I forget what I need!

  • Totally understand that. I just got all my big stuff out of the way (I think, I hope, lol) and now I am thinking about all of the DIY projects I plan on undertaking and hope I can actually pull them off!
  • I totally understand how you feel, anxiety and all.
My best advice would be to sit back and imagine yourself at your reception.  Think of what you would really miss if you didnt have and work your way back from there.  Seems obvious but I tried that and it helped put things in perspective and also had me think of a few things I hadn't before.
Also, if you're worried about it looking generic, maybe DIY some things.   Also, a really good way to avoid the generic aspect is maybe seek out not so standard flowers or centerpieces.  Maybe steer away from strictly floral centerpieces in general? One personal note;, I really, really, REALLY don't like the mirrors under centerpieces and I'm not sure why so many people are obessed with them, but that's a sure fire way for me to think "generic" even if its really not.   Just some thoughts.

  • Don't worry if you forget about something small, because nobody is going to notice.  If you put decorations in the bathroom, the guests will think "oh that's nice," but if you forget nobody is going to miss them.

Have you looked at the knot checklist?  I've found that it's very helpful because it lists a lot of small things that I would otherwise have forgotten.  I also love how you can add tasks (like decorating the bathroom) as they come to mind so you don't forget later.
