Anyone getting married at St. Patrick's church in DC?

I'm curious to know if the church allows brides to wear strapless dresses.

My cousin got married there last year and her dress had spagetti straps but the church said her shoulders had to be covered. So her seamstress added a little tulle to the straps to widen them and it was fine. I don't know if their policy has changed since this was last year, but hope this helps!

Very helpful. Thank you! I can keep this in mind as I shop for wedding gowns.

You may want to ask the pastor yourself, rather than rely on someone else's experience(s).  Good luck!

My fiance and I are going to register at St. Patrick's Church in DC. I know some churches make you wait 6 months after you register until you get to speak with the priest regarding a ceremony date. Does anyone know if this is the case for this church?

    Thanks!

I don't know, but if you call the rectory and ask, they'll let you know.

yes you can wear strapless, and yes you usally have to wait 6months. Monsignor Sal provides you with a booklet that helps lay out all teh guidelines when you meet with him for your first wedding counciling.

Anyone know how much St. Patrick's asks couples to donate to the church if they are getting married there?

I've noticed that DC churchs have hefty ceremony fees, whether you are a member or not.
