So my fiance and myself Really like St. Francis Hall in DC..but we would have to find a place to have the ceremony.

We don't want to do it at a church and we have about 200 people. We are also on a lower-end budget so I cant afford anything insane like the willard, the national building museum, etc.

Any advice would REALLY be appreciated!!

Ooo, St Francis Hall is beautiful!  In the same ball park (price wise) is Oxon Hill Manor.  If you aren't getting married int he dead of winter, they have an outdoor space perfect for a ceremony and then other spaces (indoor and out) for the reception.  I wish I could help w/a ceremony site near St Francis but we only looked at churches for our ceremony.

check out the Arts Club of Washington as well.  They have indoor/outdoor spaces you might be able to use as a separate ceremony/reception site and were in the same price range.

Could you just have the ceremony at St. Francis Hall as well?  Typically, the least expensive alternative is having your ceremony and reception at the same place.

When you are at a bookstore, try picking up a copy of Washingtonian Bride and Groom magazine and also the DC version of The Knot magazine.  You can get all kinds of ideas there between the ads, venue profiles and articles about "real weddings."

    Good luck!

The Arts club at 19th & Penna is nice, the Tabard Inn is old, on 'N' st at Conn, and the San Franciscan Monestary in NE, near Catholic University is lovely.

If you need alterations, call us, Toast and Strawberries, tel 202- 723-9007..we do a fine job..usually within 3 weeks..can give estimates over the phone..Call

    good luck,
