non hotel venues for 200 people?

Hey everyone,Anyone know of any non-hotel venues in n.va, md, or dc that can accommodate 200 guests for the reception? I'm looking for a place that has a large enough ballroom to have a seated dinner, with a full size dancefloor and band all in one room. Any ideas?Thanks,Alison

    Alison, These were our exact venue requirements as well.  The final two places we considered were the Regan Building and the National Press Club.  Our wedding is at the Press Club and we've been very happy with them (and they were quite reasonable).  We also briefly considered about two dozen places (Newseum, Mount Vernon, Constitution Hall, Galleria at Lafayette Center, among others).  We wound up wanting somewhere that we didn't have to rent the dance floor, chairs, tables, linens, etc.  and that had an on site kitchen.

    pnkesner, what kind of budget do you need for the places you listed?  Did you look at the Liaison Hotel in Capitol Hill?  Thanks!

    The Newton-White Mansion in Prince George's County, MD has an incredible ballroom that seats 200. Unfortunately, it was booked solid when we were looking. (Bonus: if you live in PG or Montgomery Counties, you save about half on the rental fee.)

    We're getting married at Overhills Mansion in Catonsville, MD. It has a great reception ballroom with enough space for 200 guests and an enormous dance floor.
