My MOH is coming in on Friday for the weekend for my engagement party Saturday (yay!) and then we're gonna do dress shopping on Sunday with my mom and SIL.Any suggestions for places to go? My mom is in Woodbridge, SIL in Fairfax, and we're in Arlington and on a Sunday in summer, I'd prefer to stay away from 95 if possible. We're looking to try on bridesmaid dresses and wedding dresses with my budget being about $1500 max and looking for BM dresses under $200. We ventured out to Manassas to Jeanette's but were late for our appointment b/c of traffic and didn't get great service (our fault). But I wasn't thrilled with the dresses I tried on there. We've been to David's Bridal (just to try on styles really and get an idea of what looked good) but that's all. I really love the Amsale BM dresses and for myself, am looking for something a little blingy/showy and romantic.Any suggestions? :-)

I went to A Formal Affair in Warrenton. They were very nice and helpful. They had a pretty big selection in a variety of sizes. It's a bit of a drive out 66 but it was well worth it for me. I got my dress there and LOVE it.

I had good luck with White Swan in Vienna, which has a nice selection.  I found my dress at Ellie's in Old Town, which had a wide selection, but wasn't thrilled with the reviews so White Swan matched the price.  I really like Katherine's on Duke Street as well, I dealt with Kitty there and she was great! In terms of bridesmaid's dress, I found what I liked online an looked at it in stores and ordered from netbride.com, which saved the BM's quite a bit of money.

My friend got married last night.  Her dress recommendation to me was Ellie's Bridal in Alexandria, where she purchased her dress.  She looked beautiful.

I got my dress at Blush in Gainesville. They are definitely open on Sunday (most bridal shops are closed on Sunday). I worked with Natalia and she is awesome! It is also the cutest little boutique. www.blushbridalboutique.com

I 2nd Rosalin's. I got my dress from there. They will try to beat a price if you find the same dress elsewhere for less. Also, many dresses are already under your budget...everything I tried on was 800-1200.
