Chiavari chair weight limit?

Hi all... does anyone know if there is a weight limit for chiavari chairs? I don't want any heavier guests have to worry about breaking a chair during the reception. They look kind of delicate.

PS I hope that didn't sound insensitive. There is just one person in particular who's very heavy and that I would not want to be uncomfortable. I also wouldn't want him to have a separate chair. If chiavari chairs are known to be weak, then I'll just go with the chairs the venue offers. TIA.

I don't think you sound insensitive, but quite thoughtful.  I think your best bet is to ask your rental company.  They'll know the answer.

I was thinking the exact same thing.  I have at least 2-3 people who may be up to 400 pounds (definitely over 300) coming and I decided to be on the safe side and get wood folding chairs.

I do events planning for a living and have used Chivari chairs several times. I have never seen one break, but they are always wobbly. I come from a family with heavier relatives and decided against the chivari chairs for my wedding last year. They can be uncomfortable and nerve racking since they are a little wobbly. I did not want to make my guests nervous about the chair they are sitting in. I hope this helps a bit :)
