Videographer?

So, everyone is telling me that I'll regret not having our wedding day captured on video. >rolls eyes< I'm not opposed to it, I'm just afraid it's going to cost an arm and a leg. Who are you using, what are you getting, and how much are you paying? Thanks ladies!

Like you, I was afraid I would regret not having the video footage, but didn't want to spend a lot of money on a videographer.  I decided to use James Ryan Films.  It's $1000 for 8 hours with two videographers; but you can scale that back to whatever you are comfortable spending. They just shoot the raw footage, which you can they bring to someone else for editing into a really nice package if you decide to spend the money on it.  I figure the $1000 is worth getting the footage and then I can spend the extra money on editing after the wedding when not feeling as budget-crunched. www.jamesryanfilms.com

Christine- contact me at alyssaandmattk at gmail for our guy's contact information. He will charge $300 for the ceremony only (guests arriving, details, entire ceremony). He uses two cameras and brings an assistant if they are available. He also has up to 8 wireless microphones so that you can be heard on your video. If you want the entire wedding (no time limit, ceremony to end of reception) he charges $700. Same deal as before 2 cameras, assistant if available. He does not have a website, but prefers to meet with people in person. He chooses not to have a website since he wants people to get the full experience of his DVDs. He gave us 2 samples (a total of 4 discs). His DVDs are structured as follows, 1st disc is 20 minute "highlights" footage and edited ceremony footage with music, etc. 2nd disc is edited reception footage.I was in the same boat you are- it was important for me to have footage of our day, but I don't need a super amazing and expensive videographer to do so for me. With that said, I was impressed with the offerings of this guy especially for the price.
