**2dBride**

So I was stalking your bio (I like to see what other people are planning!) and I saw the thing about the Bridal Veil, OR post office and I absolutely love it! I was a little confused though by how the link you had explained to use their service. You have to order stamps from them? I'm not sure how that generates any revenue for them as that's USPS dollars, but the whole explanaition of the process confused me in general! Could you explain the process for me? I'm sure some other ladies on here would be interested too! I don't mind sending my shipment to them with a donation cause I honestly have no idea how they generate revenue when it's all government run by the USPS...

You are not absolutely required to order stamps from them, but it is considered courteous, because that is what helps the Bridal Veil Post Office stay alive. Basically, when they consider which Post Offices should be closed, they look at how much revenue is generated by each one, based on things like stamp sales. So although the Bridal Veil Post Office is tiny, it is able to stay alive by showing that it brings in lots of revenue through stamp sales. The instructions are pretty simple.Step 1 - Buy Stamps

Figure out how many invitations you are sending. Add a few to that to allow for people you have forgotten about.
Get at least one invitation envelope, with all the enclosures, weighed at your local Post Office to figure out how much postage it will require.
Now you know how many stamps you need, and in what value. Send a letter ordering the stamps to:
Postmaster Geri Canzler1 W Mill RoadBridal Veil, OR 97010
Include a check made out to the US Postal Service for the price of the stamps.
Step 2 - Send Invitations

Pack all of your invitations into a box. If necessary, add padding/stuffing to keep them from rattling around.
Add to the box a letter to the same address as above, saying that you would like to get the invitations postmarked at Bridal Veil, and telling her which postmark (hearts or doves) you would prefer. If you want her to wait until a specific day to send the invitations out, let her know.
If you are sending more than 50 invitations, enclose in the box a check made out to the US Postal Service in the amount of 5 cents for each invitation over 50.
That's it. All of the invitations will get hand canceled and sent from the Bridal Veil Post Office. For anyone who hasn't seen my bio, here's a picture of the hearts postmark:
