Looking for Bus Rental Advice

Has anyone rented or charted a bus to transport guests? I am thinking about doing this because the location we chose for our ceremony has limited parking. Anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking people could park at reception location, take bus to ceremony, bus could make 2-3 trips then take everyone back for coktail hour while WP takes pictures.

We used ING transportation to run a shuttle which ran in circles from hotel to venue and back. It worked really well. It was a 24 person bus.

I'm using Ala Ride.  I'm using three 30-passenger mini-coches to transport guests.  But they have lots of options available (larger or smaller coaches).  Website: www.dclimoride.com or www.dccharterbusride.comI have been working with Aisha at 202-549-7001.They also do limos.

Hi Ladies!  I am planning to do the same thing for mine.  We're going to have the bus pick people up at the hotel and take them to the vineyard (ceremony & reception at the same place) then pick everyone up afterwards.When you booked, do you have to pay for the time you're not using the bus too?  For instance, they would pick people up at 5, take them to the vineyard - then pick people up at 11 and back to the hotel.  I just wonder if I"ll have to pay for the hours in between too.

ALA Ride has a 3-hour minimum, so it likely depends on how cost-effective it is to have the shuttles return at the end of the evening, as opposed to having them sit and wait.  It's not an issue for me because my guests are staying at a hotel that is within walking distance from the reception site, so I'm having the shuttles leave  after they drop the guests off there.  I really like working with Aisha, so you could just call her to find out what the best options are.
