Ala Ride -Shuttle Bus Company

I can't remember who asked about the Ala Ride shuttle company, but I promised to post a review after my wedding.  My wedding was yesterday and Ala Ride got the job done.  I had contracted with them for three 30-passenger mini buses for 3 hours to transport guests from the hotel to the church and then to the reception (all within a 2-mile radius). At the last minute (i.e., day before the wedding) one of their mini buses broke down.  So they sent one 30-passenger mini bus and one 60-passenger coach bus, in the place of two mini buses.  It wasn't my first choice, but I can't complain about the results.  They transported my guests as I wanted and the the buses were very nice and comfortable.  I think the guests actually enjoyed riding the larger bus, even if the driver did have to do a 10-point k turn to turn around at one point.  I appreciated that they provided a solution to the last minute problem and didn't leave me hanging.  They also adjusted the price to my benefit. So I was happy with the service.

Congratulations! I know it might be considered rude but can I ask how much? You can email me at tls.23@juno.com if you don't want to post it here. I need buses for the same type of situation for May 2010. Thanks!

Not at all rude to ask about price.  I don't mind sharing in case others want to know.  The total came to $985.60, which included a built-in tip for the drivers. So it was about $330 for the mini bus, and $650 for the coach bus.

On the topic of travel... we were looking into hiring a minibus to take our guests from hotel to venue, and I found a transportation company that offers 14-person mini-coaches on demand, more like a taxi service. You can arrange it in advance, but you pay per trip, no 3-hour minimum booking, no paying by the hour for the bus to sit outside your venue.http://www.vanandlimo.com/ I calculated the cost, it would have been 50% cheaper to use this service vs a more traditional car service.Ultimately, we decided to go with a hotel that offers a free shuttle, so we don't need it, but I hope this helps someone else!!

It was me that asked - thank you so much for remembering to do so!!!  Great to know that when something went wrong - they corrected it.  Congratulations and thanks again!
